Compensation and Benefits:

The Full Salary Range for this position is $40,453 – $72,390   Annually. Work Schedule:  Monday-Thursday 7:30 am – 5:00 pm & Friday 7:30 am-11:30 am

Primary Duties/Brief Description of Work:

The Access Security Specialist’s primary responsibility is to install and maintain the City’s card access and closed circuit television video surveillance systems. This position reports to the Electrical Crew Coordinator and is responsible for performing repairs, testing, programming and maintenance of card access and closed circuit television video surveillance systems. The employee in this position will troubleshoot and repair complex electronic systems and will install, terminate & test low voltage copper cables and other related types of cabling. Additional duties will include, but not limited to: maintain accurate records by documenting installations and services performed, participate in the design and modification of specialized electronic equipment for each phase of construction, provide technical advice on selection of components, research new technologies, and make recommendation for card access and closed circuit television equipment improvements. The successful applicant should be able to read and understand blue prints and should have significant experience with Honeywell Access Systems, Pelco, computer hardware and software installation. This individual should also be familiar with electric lock hardware installation, Digital Video Recorders and Multiplexers. This employee must have knowledge and understanding of Occupational Safety and Health Administration policies and procedures, local and state codes (for running and mounting low voltage wire, bending conduit and measuring different wire sizes), and latest codes and procedures related to Life safety systems. The employee should also have good verbal and written communications skills, be able to follow written and verbal instructions, and be capable of working well independently and with others. The physical duties of the job include; bending, stooping, standing, walking, sitting, kneeling, climbing, crawling, pushing, pulling, reaching and lifting up to 50 lbs. The employee must maintain a reliable means of contact (i.e. home or cellular phone).
