Salary Range: $60,022 – $69,608
Essential Functions and Objectives:
Supports the implementation of robust management systems focusing on the specific Hazard Risk areas of Workers Compensation, Liability and Property. Responsibilities involve intake and support of claims management and administration, internal and external stakeholder management, database and records management and financial analysis and reporting.
– Coordinates and reports incoming claims and other Risk Management related incidents; provides excellent customer service through in-person, telephone, and email interactions and timely and correct information with corresponding documentation.
– Obtains and inputs information relating to accidents for new claim creation; enters and manages claims in the management/ticketing system, ensuring accuracy.
– Assists team with direction of information and documentation of the first notice of loss process, as well as tracking of new and existing claims.
– Manages relationships with internal stakeholders and external third party service providers, including brokers, attorneys, insurers and third party administrators.
– Supports development of draft policies and procedures.
– Participates in meetings related to district risk and claims programs, vendor management and department planning, as needed.
Knowledge, Experience & Other Qualifications:
– Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of work experience in a risk management department or with an insurance broker with workers compensation and liability claim handling experience.
– Strong attention to detail.
– Strong written and verbal communication skills.
– Proven success working in a fast paced, task driven work environment.
– Ability to multitask, be adaptive to change, and remain flexible to shift between assignments.
– Excellent interpersonal skills to build rapport and deepen relationship with internal team members, other district departments, employees and vendors.
– Knowledge with Google (Gmail, Google Docs, etc.) and Microsoft (Office, Excel, Word, etc.)
– Time management, prioritization, and organizational skills.
– Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
– Ability to process data accurately and efficiently.
Education Requirements:
– High School Diploma/GED is required.
– Associate’s Degree in business, finance, insurance, risk management or related field preferred.
