SPECIAL NEEDS BUS ASSISTANT
Location: Transportation Department, Northeast & Hilltop Terminals
Work Year: Hourly, benefits eligible with minimum hours
Schedule: Flexible hours – morning & afternoon, or work both shifts
FTE: 0.688
Salary Range: $15.87 per hour
Essential Functions and Objectives:
The Special Needs Bus Assistant Paraprofessional assists with the safe transportation (e.g., to educational and special events) of special needs students for assigned bus routes in accordance with training, policies, procedures, safety rules and regulations. Supervises and monitors students and reinforces positive student behaviors and related administration policies and rules.
Knowledge, Experience & Other Qualifications:
– Must be at least 18 years of age.
– Ability to mulit-task and complete work with frequent interruptions.
– Ability to effectively work as a a team member.
– Ability to communicate clearly in English, in both written and oral formats.

Education Requirements:
– High school diploma or equivalent.
