Work Year: Traditional 235 work days 

FTE: 1.0

Salary Range: $55,174 – $66,905 annually

Essential Functions and Objectives:

Administers and manages activities within a specific area of a responsibility. Serves as the electrical subject matter expert and applies gained knowledge to execute, maintain and improve systems, programs, or processes.  

Reviews, inspects, and documents all construction projects during the construction period of the current Bond Program. Helps the division identify and report substandard materials and installation methods to the Project Manager (project owner) for resolution, ensuring quality installations that reduce future asset operation and maintenance costs, resulting in improved utilization of District operations and maintenance resources. Responsible for providing input to the Senior Manager of Construction Quality related to the development and implementation of District construction and design standards.

Provides various support and conducts activities related to logistics, reporting, training, communications, and processes. Participates in the planning and implementation of new initiatives.

Assesses and troubleshoots escalated problems and applies expert understanding to resolve complex challenges of stakeholders; focuses on root cause identification in order to achieve systemic and sustainable improvement. Approves and documents exceptions for compliance record keeping and reporting.

Ensures appropriate key stakeholder involvement in planning, goal-setting, and implementation to achieve buy-in of work products. Ensures purposeful, positive and professional interactions and relationships with all stakeholders; enables consistent application of work products across the district.

Identifies opportunities for improvement, prioritizes, and recommends solutions to management. Implements approved enhancements to ensure consistency across the district. Identifies opportunities to reduce costs; analyzes available data, trends, and feedback, and ensures compliance with expectations for optimal operation and goal achievement. 

Actively participates in the quality control/quality assurance program, including review of all projects from design through execution, documentation, progress reporting, conflict resolution, and final acceptance of projects on behalf of the Operations and Maintenance Department.

Serves in an advisory support role to Construction Services about maintenance of construction and installation control methods and documentation (Standards), including updating and revising documentation to match current technology.

Evaluates new/alternate methods and materials as a cost saving measure.

Prepares daily, weekly, and monthly tracking reports related to project review, inspection, issue resolution, and compliance documentation.

Coordinates issue resolution with the Construction Services Project Manager and the Supervisor of Construction Quality.

Consults/coordinates with Facility Planning, Construction Services, Engineering, contracted Architects and Engineers, contractors, and factory representatives as necessary.

Monitors all projects for safety compliance.

Knowledge, Experience & Other Qualifications:

Minimum of five (5) years electrical experience working in a multiple facilities maintenance organization with multiple building trades in a public or private organization.

Two (2) years training and/or equivalent experience in cost estimating, blueprint reading, business, and public and customer relations.

Must hold and maintain a valid Colorado Class C Driver’s License and have an acceptable driving record for the past three years.

Proficiency with Google Suite/Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, as well as the ability to learn new software applications and master telecommunications equipment.

Makes decisions quickly and completes assignments within a specified time frame.

Effective communication skills, including ability to handle critical inquiries, complaints, and questions.

Strong attention to detail.

Ability to multi-task and plan and organize work, at times with interruptions.

The ability to take responsibility for one’s own performance.

Ability to coordinate with other department staff and work effectively with diverse staff at all levels in all departments.

Aptitude for variety and changing expectations and fast-paced environment.

Ability to recall information quickly, sustain attention, and attend selectively to the problem at hand.

Knowledge of construction quality standards current in the construction industry.

Knowledge of applicable building, electrical and safety rules, codes, laws, and specifications.

Availability for weekend and holiday work as required.

Knowledge of District facility and current construction site locations, preferred.

Bilingual skills in Spanish preferred.

Education Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
