ASSESSMENT, REPORTING AND DATA SUPPORT (AR&D)

Traditional 235 work days

FTE: 1.0

Salary Range: $70,057 – $84,779

  

Essential Functions and Objectives:

 

Responsible for the functionality, support, and optimization of specific system, program, or process within the district. Applies subject matter expertise. Administers the day to day execution, maintenance, and change management of distinct areas of work to ensure business continuity. References tools, information, and other resources to ensure compliance with district policies and procedures. 

 

Provides data support in the areas of academic analytics, basic statistical analysis, and report development and production. Duties frequently include processing incoming data and storing in the department’s databases, maintaining the department’s database server, using district data systems to acquire data, providing data to other teams to carry out data analyses and reporting, conducting basic statistical analyses, and working with district and school leaders to identify data needs and reporting requirements.

 

– Provides technical and/or administrative support within a specific area, including: develops and maintains documentation, manages processes, and coordinates activities, audits work, and analyzes reports. 

Ensures ongoing effort to improve effectiveness, including: researches and evaluates pending developments, identifies areas of concern, recommends solutions, and implements upgrades and enhancements.

– Assesses and troubleshoots escalated problems and applies advanced understanding to resolve problems of stakeholders; focuses on root cause identification in order to achieve systemic improvement.

Confers cross-functionally with other teams, employees, and vendors. Provides appropriate and timely solutions to problems, repairs, access issues or user rights. Provides training and technical advise to team of employees. Coordinates with vendors as needed.

– Installs, configures, troubleshoots, and maintains data warehouse systems.

Maintains expert knowledge of developments in the fields of education, business, and information processing in order to improve and update business processes in District data systems.

Interprets, adapts, and occasionally deviates from established practices and procedures for new situations and problems, with the ability to fluently discuss issues at a technical or nontechnical level as appropriate to the audience.

Influences and motivates the work of others in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

Promotes a constructive, positive approach to problem-solving. 

 

Knowledge, Experience & Other Qualifications:

 

– 2 to 5 years’ experience designing databases and in systems administration.

Experience writing SQL Code and working with SQL Server Database.

Advanced skills in analyzing data and constructing reports using appropriate tools like Microsoft Access or Excel as well as being fluent with one more of the following applications: R, ReportingServices, SQL Server Management Studio, SQL Server Integration Services; Proficiency in formula/expression writing in MS Excel and MS ACCESS; Reporting skills using MS Access, SQL MS Excel, Server Reporting Services, Excel Services, etc..

Ability to triage existing SQL Server Integration Studio packages and suggest/implement improvements.

– Ability to analyze processes and propose new automation solutions to improve efficiency using SSIS, R, or other available tools.

Ability to discuss issues at a technical and nontechnical level with programmers and project stakeholders. 

– Ability to multitask, with strong attention to detail required, ability to prioritize diverse work assignments in a timely and accurate manner. 

A demonstrated customer-service orientation and positive attitude. 

– Handle confidential information with a high degree of integrity.

Communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.

– Ability to perform troubleshooting techniques to isolate, diagnose and repair data defects. 

Ability to work independently and collaboratively with assigned client group.

– Aptitude for variety and changing expectations and fast-paced environment.

The ability to take responsibility for one’s own performance.

Ability to work in a multi-ethnic and multicultural environment with district and school leaders, faculty, staff and students.

 

Education Requirements:

 

– Bachelor’s Degree is required.

The Assessment, Research & Evaluation Department (ARE) provides expertise and guidance in the collection, analysis, and communication of academic results to teachers, district leadership, families, and the community. We serve as a resource for test development, proper administration procedures, data collection, reporting, and analysis to inform instruction and improve student achievement.
