Salary Range: $62,838 – $76,042 

  

Essential Functions and Objectives:

Responsible for aligning business objectives to designated departments and functions. Consults with leadership and supports district activities which engage schools, businesses, community leaders and organizations in a collaborative effort to improve performance and achieve team goals. 

The ELA Network Partner will provide expertise specific to English Learners including instruction, leadership, operations, program planning, coordination, and implementation. For their assigned School Network, the ELA Network Partner will provide leadership and professional development to maximize learning for English Learners using effective research based instructional practices. Additionally, the ELA Network Partner will act as a guide and support for Instructional Superintendents, principals, central staff, and teachers to build capacity throughout the network with the goal of increased academic achievement for English Learners’ and the full implementation and sustainability of the DPS ELA program.

Provides guidance, makes recommendations, and manages solutions for alternate methods of solving needs or issues within departments. Represents the district in meetings; provides market and customer feedback to partners and management teams. Forms strategic relationships within the community and district network. Builds trusted relationships with customers and key stakeholders by communicating needs and creating synergy. 

Conducts onsite research, administers studies, evaluates survey results, analyzes and reports on initiatives and goals. Identifies and defines problems within internal departments and determines solutions to inform, influence, and propel solutions. Obtains and analyzes data to discover useful information and recommend solutions for the district. Participates in and supports decision-making processes with the goal of determining success criteria.

Ensures adequate lines of communication by conducting meetings, advocating for clients, following up, and negotiating to enhance team partnerships. Maintains communication with partners and clients on relevant topics including new service or product offerings, strategic plans, and beneficial activities. Follows up on leads and inquiries obtained by partners that compliment and support the business. 

Provides leadership and expert advice in the development, implementation, coordination and support of the English Language Acquisition curriculum in their assigned Network.

Facilitates and participates in extensive professional development to deepen understanding of effective practices for English Learners.

Designs and develops courses and toolkits for instructional superintendents, principals and teachers in their school network.

Assists the ELA team with providing best practice models, rubrics, protocols, metrics, competencies, and guidelines for their school network and the district level.

Provides support and expert advice on school designation management, staffing, paraprofessional allocation, ISA Teams, PAC engagement and budget development for ELA Program Schools, to school network’s Instructional Superintendent and principals.

Participates in external and internal best practice research. Researches and analyzes historical and current data; identifies and recommends improvement in ELA operations, processes and administration. 

Identifies ELA teacher resources in the school network and provides. 

Supports native language instruction, assessment, techniques, and tools in their school network.

Maintains a current, state-of-the-art knowledge of research and trends for English Learners. 

Performs other related duties, including special projects, as required or requested. 

Identifies Network needs and support requests – directly or via department level support.

Knowledge, Experience & Other Qualifications:

Minimum of five (5) years of satisfactory teaching experience,

Experience in writing curriculum for ELLs.

Experience providing quality ELA professional development. 

Work collaboratively with others on a team.

Ability to work in a multi-ethnic and multicultural environment with district and school leaders, faculty, staff and students.

Effective communication skills.

Effectively handle multiple demands and competing deadlines.

Effective time management and organizational skills.

Aptitude for variety and changing expectations and a fast-paced environment.

Strong attention to detail. 

The ability to take responsibility for one’s own performance.

High degree of integrity in handling confidential information.

Knowledge of standards-education, best practices and instruction for English Learners, preferred.

Knowledge of effective instructional programs and methodologies and experience in providing such instruction to meet state standards, preferred.

Experience in working effectively with adult learners, preferred.

Experience in planning and providing professional development, preferred.

Demonstrated success in working collaboratively with other professional staff on instructional improvement issues, preferred.

Commitment to continuous professional learning and maintaining current knowledge of research and trends for English learners, preferred.

Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and in Spanish. Spanish preferred, not required.

Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree is required.

– Master’s Degree with teaching license and record of special courses and /or professional development in ELA development and assessment.
