Job Duties

The Amherst H. Wilder Foundation is currently seeking individuals to conduct in-person interviews for the Metropolitan Council 2021 Park and Trail Visitors Study. We are looking for English speaking and bilingual interviewers. Interviews will take place in parks and on trails throughout the Twin Cities metro area. Paid training is provided. This is an ideal position for students or those who are looking for part-time summer work. It is also an ideal position for people who like to be outdoors in the summer and enjoy interacting with people.
The position requires working 20 to 30 hours per week from mid-May through the first week in September. Shifts are available every day of the week, including weekends and holidays. Some weekend work is required. Holiday work is not required; extra hourly pay is provided to interviewers who volunteer to work holiday shifts. The position requires reliable transportation to a variety parks throughout the seven-county metro area. Additionally, COVID-19 precautions will be in place, and mask wearing will be required during shifts, even while outdoors.

Job Qualifications

Candidates must demonstrate excellent interpersonal communication skills, a professional attitude, ability to use a computer tablet, promptness, attention to detail, and good listening skills. Interviewing or relevant experience is preferred, but not required. A high-school diploma or GED is not required.
Candidates must be willing to work as a team and feel comfortable engaging with park and trail visitors. Candidates must also be willing to work outside in all types of weather and be able to walk and stand on a variety of terrain for long periods.
