CAMPUS SAFETY OFFICER, DEPARTMENT OF SAFETY

Location: Multiple School Sites

Work Year: Traditional 180 work days – PARA/Campus Security

FTE: 1.0 ( 8 hours a day between 6:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. — overtime may be available on nights and weekends)

Salary Range: $17.81 – $18.68 per hour (commensurate with experience)

Essential Functions and Objectives:

The Campus Safety Officer provides proactive safety/security services to promote a safe and secure environment for District school, sites, related property and assets, in accordance with District policies, applicable Federal, state, and local laws. Duties may include conducting screenings, random foot patrol of assigned campus, responding to alarms or critical incidents, writing reports and other duties as assigned. This position requires a flexible schedule that may be from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM, to include holidays, weekends, and summers off. Knowledge, Experience, & Other Qualifications:

– Demonstrated work experience in criminal justice (law enforcement, safety/security) is desired.

– Education or training in criminal justice or related field is desired.

– Bilingual in English & Spanish is desired.

– Must pass a complete background check to include criminal and employment reference check.

Education Requirements:

– High school diploma or equivalent.

Additional Information:

Continued employment is contingent on successful completion and passing 160 paid hours of training conducted by the department, including First Aid, CPR and AED certifications and Pressure Point Control Tactics (PPCT) certification.
