Position Description

Common Future seeks an Associate, Organizational Advancement to enhance our development and executive operations. In this role, you will support our team of frontline fundraisers to execute revenue strategies that support our general operations, reserve funds, regranting, and other means of providing financial support to our remarkable network of leaders. You will also work directly with the Office of the CEO to support administration of meetings, events, and external communications.  

 

We believe that the playbook to fix a broken economic system doesn’t exist. As such, our work is experimental. Our initiatives and your role will continue to iterate as we do. Current responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

 

Development Operations

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance moves management processes for Common Future’s revenue team
  • Manage Salesforce and Airtable to ensure that all touchpoints with donors, funders, and prospects are tracked with a high degree of timeliness and accuracy
  • Leverage Airtable, Zapier, and other data management tools to keep data fresh and synchronized with Salesforce
  • Track donor activations, including event attendance, fundraising campaigns, and other donor communications
  • Responsible for donor acknowledgements and tax receipts, including managing recognition of online donations from GiveLively, our online donation platform
  • Measure success in donor conversion to inform future strategy
  • Manage lists for VIP outreach and other relevant audience segmentations 
  • Conduct regular pipeline meetings with Finance team to sync up on financial projections and maintaining data accuracy; help ensure understanding of revenue type and timing to help manage cash flow and grants processing
  • Ensure appropriate data is updated in respective CRMs 

 

Assessing Team Priorities and Deadlines

  • Create and manage schedule for all donor activations, proposals, and report deadlines; ensure donor activations are integrated with editorial calendar and broader marcomms activities
  • Host weekly revenue team stand-ups and serve as project manager for any next steps
  • Hold frontline fundraisers accountable on deadlines and deliverables

 

Fundraising Support

  • Support in the development of timely concept notes, grant proposals, and materials
  • Manage reporting calendar, write reports, and ensure timely submission
  • Research and prospect opportunities for new grants and donors
  • Schedule meetings and events for CSO and revenue team
  • Provide admin support to the development and coordination of events, including webinars and in-person convenings

 

Administration for Office of the CEO

  • Schedule meetings and events for CEO
  • Serve as liaison to the board, with duties including but not exclusive to: scheduling board meetings, sharing meeting agendas, developing board packets, taking board minutes, and other communications and logistics

 

Desired Requirements

  • Entry to early-mid level experience in development and/or supporting the operations of a purpose-driven venture
  • Working knowledge of the fields of community economic development, inclusive entrepreneurship, philanthropy, and/or impact investing 
  • Knowledge of, or deep interest in database management and system oversight, including tools like Salesforce, Airtable, and Zapier. Prior experience with Salesforce is a plus.
  • Able to craft persuasive written communications for different audiences
  • Enjoy working in ambiguous situations; goal-oriented while operating with autonomy 
  • Strong analytical skills; able to conduct independent analysis, draw conclusions, and make concrete, actionable recommendations 
  • Thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment 
  • Energized by the mission and work of Common Future and its extraordinary network of leaders

 

Compensation and Benefits

This is a full-time, non-exempt position. The salary range is $50,000 – $60,000 and commensurate with experience.
