Full-Time Project Manager

Job Description

HOMER has a newly created opportunity for an exceptional Project Manager to join our energetic, growing team. This role can be based in either our NYC office (will be remote until office reopens) or Toronto, Canada. You will have an immediate and visible impact on product initiatives that touch the lives of children, parents and teachers across the globe. Reporting into the Senior Director, PMO, you’ll help manage projects from initiation to release, working across departments to maintain scope and prioritize.

You will:

  • Work closely with Product Managers and Technical Leads using Agile Methodologies to continuously evaluate scope, schedule, resources for smooth execution.
    • Assist in developing and managing scope on an iterative scrum team.
    • Monitor execution efforts to ensure alignment of prioritized work and roadmap.
    • Manage project and team schedules with a focus on optimizing productivity.
    • Continuously evaluate and communicate realistic and accurate project statuses.
    • Monitor and assess velocities and communicate abnormalities and inconsistencies.
    • Keep team members engaged in following company process protocols.
    • Ensure JIRA and Confluence is the source of truth.
  • Work in lockstep within the PMO to ensure program dependencies.
    • Maintain PMO artifacts regularly.
    • Identify and track risk with a mitigation plan.
  • Continuously assess processes to adapt to changing needs, teams, and environments.

Must Haves:

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience as a Project Manager working on technical projects
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working with Scrum Teams
  • Action-oriented and proactive
  • High attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to multitask and work on several projects at once
  • Experience working with JIRA
  • Experience working in both Waterfall and Agile environments
  • Experience working on technical product development from ideation to release
  • Certified PMP

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Certified CSM
  • Experience configuring systems like JIRA, Airtable
