Job Description
UDC is seeking a full-time Solutions Engineer to join our team. The Solutions Engineer will possess both technical depth and strong interpersonal skills to partner with operations and business development teams to help lead discussions and craft solutions to meet business needs for customers.
The selected candidate will report to the VP, Solutions Engineering. This position may require up to 50% of travel at times.
What you will do
· Assist business development to understand client technical needs through discussing business process and drivers; including hardware and software needs.
· Create innovative preliminary solutions for customer problems.
· Partner with marketing to develop and deliver presentations for solutions.
· Drive UDCs thought leadership in the market through blogs, paper presentations, and publishing content.
· Work independently or with a team as needed to meet goals and timelines.
· Develop relationships and maintaining customer relations through in-person and client site visits, as well as remote opportunities.
· Partner with the Account Management and Business Development teams to ensure they can demonstrate UDC technical capabilities to current and prospective clients.
· Perform demonstrations of UDC capabilities and offerings as needed for internal and external clients, including conferences, RFPs, and other opportunities.
What we look for from you
· Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent), or equivalent utility and consulting work experience
· 10+ years of work experience in support of related utility consulting or large-scale process/technology projects
· Knowledge of electric, gas and/or water utilities
· Knowledge of utility-related technologies such as:
· ADMS/OMS systems
· EAM systems (SAP/Maximo, etc)
· CIS systems
· AMI
· DERMS/DER
· Renewables
· Salesforce
· Deep technical understanding of the Esri product suite, with emphasis desired in one or more of the following:
· Configuring, deploying, and managing the Utility Network
· Cloud solutions and deployment methodologies
· Designing and deploying ArcGIS applications through ArcGIS Online or Portal
· Solutions Architecture
· Exceptional interpersonal skills
· Familiarity with business hardware and software systems
· Expert understanding of utility business processes, including compliance, regulatory requirements, and field workflows
· Ability to create big-picture software solutions that are correlated to business needs.
· Ability to present ideas in a clean, user-friendly way
· Sales experience

Compensation range
$125,000-$160,000 annually depending on location and experience
