Full-Time FLEET AND EQUIPMENT REPAIR COODINATOR

City of Oshkosh – Posted by City of Oshkosh Oshkosh, Wisconsin, United States

Job Description

FLEET AND EQUIPMENT REPAIR COODINATOR

Pay Range: $24.38 – $27.86 hourly

Fed up with the mundane? Want to dive into a dynamic role where your hands and brain get equal workout time? Be the genius behind the machines in our Central Garage Division as our new FLEET AND EQUIPMENT REPAIR COODINATOR. You’ll arrange equipment repairs, order parts, keep tabs on inventory like a hawk, and maintain the parts room so well you could perform surgery in there.

YOUR DAILY TUNE UP:

  • Inventory Whisperer:
    • Master the chaos of parts and supplies.
      • Work with the Mechanic Manager in coordinating parts pick-ups from local supplies.
    • Set up automated reorder levels and review incoming treasures.
      • Import/Export parts from computer software.
      • Review quality and price.
    • Manage shop tools, bulk fluids (no more antifreeze catastrophes!), and ensure a spotless environment.
  • Purchasing Prodigy:
    • Slash through paperwork like there’s no tomorrow.
      • Prepare and process invoices, vouchers, purchase requisitions and other documents.
    • Ensure every penny is properly accounted for.
    • Be the bridge between vendors, the purchasing division, and every invoice in limbo.
  • Record-Keeping Protagonist:
    • Command electronic work orders with detail-oriented precision.
    • Maintain impeccable, legible files in our asset management software.
    • Generate reports that make management marvel at your prowess (you got this!).
  • Shop Sensei:
    • Oversee fuel systems and auto wash shenanigans.
    • Schedule every maintenance and repair as if our city’s fleet were your own prized collection.
    • Solve breakdown dramas before they become calamities.
    • Be the Yoda of equipment components, repair scheduling, and vendor coordination. Clear, your mind must be.

WHAT YOU BRING:

  • A high school diploma or similar bragging rights. An Associate’s in business, fleet management, or something related? Even better.
  • Two years of wrangling inventory in a parts or service department.
  • Class C Underground Storage Tank Operator within six months.
  • A valid driver’s license

CAN YOU HANDLE IT?

  • Frequent standing, walking, sitting, bending, and lifting.
  • Occasionally climbing or crawling in the bowels of equipment mysteries.
  • Lifting and moving parts up to 25 lbs. regularly and 100 lbs. occasionally.
  • Eyes that can focus like hawk.

YOUR DOMAIN & KNOWLEDGE:

  • A mostly quiet workshop, but get ready to face the elements and occasional noisy machine when duty calls.
  • Sporting safety gear to fend off chemicals, fumes, and curious flying objects.
  • Encyclopedic knowledge of vehicle construction, systems, and parts.
  • Mastery over inventory systems like you’re Neo in the Matrix.
  • Microsoft Word, Excel and fleet analysis.
  • Problem-solving skills that would put Sherlock to shame. (Watson not included)
