Full-Time Manager, Digital Marketing

Role Overview

The Manager, Digital Marketing oversees several key elements of our organization’s digital marketing efforts including digital campaigns, overseeing social media channels, managing online paid media campaigns and email campaigns. This position will manage a direct report and will work collaboratively with multiple internal teams and external agency partners to develop and implement digital marketing strategies that drive results.

Location: Flexible work agreement policy in place allowing employees to work on a hybrid schedule, working remotely and with the expectation of being in-office. Accepting candidate applications across Canada, as this role can be 100% remote.

This role includes, but not limited to:

  • Develop and implement Diabetes Canada’s social media strategy and roadmap across multiple platforms including Facebook, X (Twitter), Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok.
  • Develop social media, paid digital and email marketing strategies for marketing campaigns that help internal stakeholders achieve their goals and objectives
  • Contribute to the development of Diabetes Canada’s email marketing strategy and lead the implementation of this strategy by leveraging data and email marketing technology to plan, execute and optimize end to end email marketing campaigns including deployment cadence, segmentation, list management, journey development, and A/B testing.
  • Work with media agency to plan and execute online paid media campaigns, including PPC, display, social media advertising, and remarketing to deliver campaign objectives.
  • Set clear objectives for online campaigns, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and provide reports on campaign performance.
  • Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for Diabetes Canada’s digital channels to streamline processes, maintain consistency, and ensure best practice adoption.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends, emerging technologies, best practices in digital marketing and campaign recommendations for improvement.
  • Manage and mentor a direct report, providing guidance, coaching and feedback to support their growth and development.

The ideal candidate possesses:

  • Post-secondary diploma or university degree in marketing, communications, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in digital marketing, with a proven track record of developing and executing successful campaigns.
  • Experience managing and developing strategic plans for social media channels and national online paid media campaigns.
  • Experience working within an Agile methodology.
  • 2+ years of experience managing and mentoring direct reports.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret data to drive campaign performance.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple campaigns concurrently and meet deadlines.
  • Strong understanding of email marketing best practices, including segmentation, list management, and A/B testing
  • Proficiency in email platforms (e.g., Luminate, Mailchimp) social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite), analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics) and content creation tools (e.g., Canva)
  • Experience working within the not-for-profit sector an asset.
