Summary:

The Risk Manager, directly reporting to the Chief Compliance and Government Relations Officer (CCO) plays a critical role in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks across the organization. This position maintains, improves, and implements a comprehensive enterprise risk management framework approved by the organization’s Board of Directors, enabling proactive risk identification and strategic decision-making, oversight and monitoring of mitigation and remediation actions, and tracking of these efforts. The Enterprise Risk Manager will collaborate with various departments to ensure risk management through risk assessment processes, interviewing, and documentation that supports the organization’s mission, goals, and compliance requirements and aligns with the organization’s risk appetite and tolerance. The risk manager will also assist with developing and maintaining a procurement process to identify risks related to vendor contracting, and establishing processes related to vendor contracting requests, approval, and risk surveillance procedures.

What You’ll Do: 

  • Oversee MPC’s Enterprise Risk Management Program at the direction of the MPC, CCO, and CFO.
  • Maintain MPC’s ERM plan and work plan.
  • Perform MPC/MCMIs annual ERM risk assessment and report findings to CCO and Sr. Leadership.
  • Conduct risk assessments, collecting and analyzing documentation, statistics, reports, and market trends.
  • Establish or review policies and procedures to identify and address risks in the organization’s services and departments.
  • Review and assess risk management policies and protocols; make recommendations and implement modifications and improvements.
  • Draft and present risk reports and proposals to executive leadership and senior staff.
  • Review vendors and delegate contracting requests to meet MPC procurement requirements.
  • Perform risk mitigation regarding MPC’s Vendor and Delegate entity contracting and inventory management.
Requirements

 

Required Skills/Abilities: 

  • Thorough understanding of policies and best practices of risk management.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software to prepare reports and policies.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in risk management, finance, or related field required.
  • 3-5 years of related experience.
  • Medicaid/Medicare or Managed Care Health Plan experience preferred.
