Job Description:
The Director of Academic Success and Retention/Title III Project Director is responsible for the supervision and direction of the Zogbhy Learning Commons, as well as the facilitation and oversight of all programming and fiscal activities related student tutoring and support, College-wide. Position will also administer the Title III Project grant awarded to the College. This is a full-time, 12-month position.
The individual filling this position is expected to play a positive leadership role in helping the College manage change, improve student outcomes, and work with a variety of stakeholders to build an environment conducive for quality learning and support
- Provide leadership and administration to all Zoghby Learning Commons (ZLC) services and teams.
- Develop and execute impactful strategies for improving student outcomes in gateway courses.
- Develop and execute innovative approaches to tutoring and student support.
- Oversee and manage all aspects of the Title III Project, including achieving objectives and adhering to timelines.
- Collaborate with the Grants Development and Finance Department to maintain accurate financial records and manage the budget throughout the grant’s duration.
- Regularly provide updates and strategic guidance on the Title III Project to leadership teams.
- Recruit, train, and oversee staff involved with the Title III Project.
- Analyze student data using predictive analytics to develop and implement strategies for proactive student support.
- Ensure consistent communication with essential personnel to align the project with the institution’s objectives.
- Create and execute a communication strategy to keep the campus community informed about the Title III Project.
- Stay informed about Title III and U.S. Department of Education regulations, ensuring the project complies with all requirements.
- Engage in professional development relevant to the role, including attending national Title III events and Department of Education training sessions.
- Act as the College’s representative for the Title III project, engaging with state-level initiatives as needed.
- Provide strategic leadership for the College’s academic support services.
- Approve web access and participate in managing web filtering policies and procedures.
- Propose budgets for the Learning Commons and Title III, and ensure financial records are accurate and current.
- Work with the Center for Innovative Teaching & Learning to enhance collaboration between faculty and student support services.
- Propose staffing, resources, and equipment necessary for effective academic support and early intervention.
- Continuously assess the Learning Resource Center to meet accreditation and professional standards.
- Support college-wide instructional technology initiatives and accreditation efforts.
- Teach one (3 credit) College Success course each academic year as assigned by the Vice President of Academic Affairs, coordinating with the relevant academic department.
- Oversight of support positions within the Zoghby Learning Commons.
- Complete mandatory annual compliance training as part of the college’s risk management protocol.
- Provide oversight and coordination of Prior Learning Assessment (PLA). When necessary, coordinate prior learning assessments with faculty in partnership with student affairs.
- Additional responsibilities as directed by the Dean for Academic Services and Support.

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in education, counseling, business, administration, or other relevant field plus at least 7 years relevant work experience required.
- Master’s degree or Doctorate in education, counseling, business or administration from an accredited college or university is preferred.
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience working with state or federally-funded educational opportunity programs, academic support programs, or similar programs for college students is preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience with program development, implementation, and management.
- Experience in staff supervision, training, budget management, program development, evaluation, and reporting/compliance with federal regulations.
- Experience in programming that improves the persistence, academic standing, and graduation rates of college students.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and complete tasks on time.
