 Salary: Starting at £47,420 per year (Grade 12)

Contract: Fixed term (Maternity Cover), Full-time, Monday to Friday

Hours: 37 hours per week, Hybrid and Flexible working

Location: YPO Headquarters, 41 Industrial Park, Wakefield WF2 0XE

Benefits: 29 days’ holiday, plus bank holidays, plus 3 discretionary closedown days.

YPO have an exciting opportunity for a PR and Communications Manager to join our Brand & Communications team on a fixed-term basis for 12 months.

We’re looking for an experienced, ambitious PR professional with public affairs experience, eager to further develop their management of external communications, whether from an agency or in-house PR team, to join our inclusive and passionate team.

To support the team on a fixed term basis, your exceptional interpersonal skills, coupled with your proficiency in written and verbal communication, and your meticulous attention to detail, will support us in progressing our external communications plans.

As a motivated PR leader focused on results, your enthusiasm and dedication will positively impact our team achievements. You’ll play a vital role in creating and managing key PR strategies and delivering public affairs activity, staying informed about current events and relevant news topics affecting the public sector, in and around our local community, and manage key strategic partnerships with local and national organisations.

You will be confident in your ability to influence a team and lead by example, while dealing with sensitive issues and acting quickly to resolve them. Your keen eye for detail, coupled with your ability to oversee the drafting of written content and copy for different demographics through different mediums, will be essential in providing clear communication to our wide and large audiences. Your existing line management experience will allow you to seamlessly integrate into your role as a mentor and guide for your line report, a newly recruited PR and Communications Officer.

It is essential that the successful candidate have:

  • A degree level qualification, or significant relevant experience in a similar role
  • Evidence of further qualification or experience in PR and Communications
  • The ability to lead and deliver effective digital communications
  • Excellent organisation, planning and attention to detail
  • Demonstrable ability to build positive stakeholder relationships and nurture junior colleagues
