Full-Time Regional Field Coordinator

Job Description

The Regional Field Coordinator plays a pivotal role in the development and continued success of grassroots growth and engagement for Everytown for Gun Safety. Each Regional Field Coordinator (RFC) provides direct administrative support to the regional teams managing state-level chapters of Moms Demand Action. RFCs work with field organizing staff to provide administrative support for volunteer leaders, including teaching new leaders our systems and processes, tracking chapter expenses and budgets, and ensuring access to technology systems we provide to volunteer leaders. They anticipate needs and think about how administrative systems and better understanding of our processes can build a stronger movement. We are looking for proactive problem solvers who are not only passionate about our mission but also specifically passionate about the role an administrative coordinator can play in preventing gun violence in our communities.

RFCs receive training and resources upon starting, including background on the gun violence prevention movement and Everytown’s policy positions. We are currently hiring for someone to work in the West, who either lives in the region or is willing to work West Coast hours. This is a full time, hourly position that pays $26.44/hour ($55,000/year) with a generous benefits package including PTO, 401K Match, Education Assistance and more. This position is permanently work-from-home.

Responsibilities

  • Develop deep understanding of our administrative systems as well as the needs of staff and volunteer leaders in order to proactively address issues and propose improvements
  • Provide technical and administrative support and coordination to staff and volunteers. Make sure that volunteer leaders understand and have access to our systems including but not limited to VAN, Google Drive, Classy, Hustle, Slack, and Concur
  • Manage reimbursement process with chapters, encourage expenses to be tracked
  • Support new leaders and current leaders in learning administrative systems through 1:1 meetings, team calls, and running trainings
  • Provide training to volunteer leaders on administrative systems and usage through 1:1 meetings and team calls.
  • Proactively identify areas for improvement in utilization of our processes and work with peers and volunteer leaders to support them
  • Lead by example through demonstrations of integrity, professionalism and leadership
  • Represent Moms Demand Action as a liaison between volunteer leaders and the rest of the organization; continually build confidence and excitement about our campaign work and priorities
  • Develop knowledge on gun violence prevention policy, local and regional politics and relevant policy issues within the region
  • Identify and work to address accessibility needs and opportunities for better inclusion
  • Support the planning of our annual conference, Gun Sense University
  • Other coordinator/support role duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Understand how stereotypes, bias, and forms of racism in America (including structural racism, implicit bias, gender bias, religious bias, ageism, and bias based on gender identity or sexual orientation) impact our society, with an expectation that you will develop an ability to articulate the connection between these large societal issues and the disproportionate impact of gun violence on specific demographic groups in America
  • Understand how dynamics of power, voice, and privilege impact one-on-one and group interactions, and a commitment to using power, voice, and privilege to make our movement more equitable
  • Very strong attention to detail
  • Proactive problem solver
  • Passion for and interest in the administrative work of supporting our organization
  • Ability to explain administrative systems to people of all levels of familiarity and proficiency
  • Passion for providing excellent customer service to internal and external constituents, including a positive attitude
  • Experience addressing inclusion and equity from an administrative perspective
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills; able to manage competing deadlines
  • Track record of quickly learning and teaching others administrative and logistics systems
  • Previous administrative experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with marginalized communities, constituents, and volunteer leaders
  • Experience as a trainer or teacher
  • Understanding of gun violence prevention policies
  • Experience managing work across peers and teams
  • Experience managing a budget with equity and inclusion at the forefront
  • Proficiency with Slack, G Suite, and Excel
  • Fluency in Spanish not required but is a plus
  • We have a preference for hiring people who are survivors of gun violence, have lived experience with gun violence, or are from a community disproportionately impacted by gun violence.
