Full-Time Assistant Branch Manager

Job Description

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Responsible for client service delivery and overall operations of a branch office; including sales, security, employee relations and maintenance of the branch. As part of the branch management team, assists in meeting overall branch performance expectations.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES (assigned duties are under the leadership and direction of the Branch Manager)

  • Ensure that assigned branch consistently meet/exceed all sales, retention and growth goals, and client service standards.
  • Leads branch personnel to effectively evaluate and serve clients’ total financial needs (existing and potential clients). Assists in training, coaching and holding staff accountable for all facets of product and service knowledge and delivery. Utilizes the New Client Onboarding program as a tool for meeting/exceeding cross-sale and referral expectations. Manages and motivates staff to ensure effective delivery of Bank products and services and to attain sales and referral objectives by utilizing the New Client Onboarding process.
  • Exercises sound client service and sales techniques and identifies clients’ needs. Fully explains the features and benefits of the Bank’s products and services, including all digital channels, debit card reward program, and opens appropriate accounts based on clients’ needs.   Demonstrates effective use of our sales and service program, as a model for branch staff to follow.
  • Prepare and conduct client appointments inside the branch as scheduled. Set and complete one inside business appointment with existing clients to build the relationship along with utilizing current clients for additional referrals.
  • Directly responsible for the superior client service delivery within assigned branch. Manages and participates in client engagement activities and initiatives, including execution of lobby and dialogue tower engagement by staff. Ensures prompt response to and satisfactory delivery of client deliverables and complaint resolution.
  • Responsible for consumer and residential mortgage loan generation through assigned branch. Must demonstrate the ability to effectively manage the function and take applications, interact with parties inherent to the transactions, act as the point of contact for clients, and close loans in accordance with applicable regulations and GSB quality standards.
  • Cross-sells and refers additional bank products and services such as loan products, cash management, wealth management advisory services, and convenience services, including digital services.
  • Assume responsibility for the supervision and coordination of daily branch activities, including opening and closing of branch. This may include expanded hours (i.e. evenings, Saturdays). Recommend and request appropriate staffing, equipment and building services as necessary.
  • Supervises cash management, i.e. daily usage, orders and distribution, vault controls, cash drawer limits and vault as dictated by Bank policy.
  • Supervise daily settlement of branch, including on-site ATM and Cash Recycler; assist Tellers and Universal Bankers with balancing as necessary.
  • Directly responsible for the completion of required branch security and operational audits on a timely basis. Leadership role in all aspects of the Branch Security Program as part of the branch management team.
  • Schedule all branch employees to meet client service needs.  In coordination with the Branch Manager, assign staff duties and schedule workflow on a daily basis.
  • Coordinates on-going training activities of all branch staff with product knowledge, sales, compliance and operational procedures in accordance with Retail and Corporate training programs.
  • Conducts performance evaluations, coach and counsel employees through Stay Interviews & Independent Development Plans, recommend compensation and other personnel action.
  • Completes required annual Bank Secrecy Act training which includes emphasis on Currency Transaction Reporting (CTRs), Suspicious Activity Reporting (SARs), and the Client Information Program (CIP) Policy.
  • In accordance with Bank Secrecy Act responsibilities, reviews Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs), reports suspicious activity to the Bank Secrecy Act Officer, identifies high-risk clients (accounts), ensures adherence to the Client Identification Program (CIP) Policy, and trains the branch staff.
  • Develops and maintains client relationships through business associations, personal contacts and outside community affairs.
  • Perform Teller/Universal Banker duties as necessary.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
  • Completes all required compliance training as assigned in a timely manner.

DUTIES SUPERVISED: Branch Universal Bankers, Tellers & Branch sales

FUNCTIONS SUPERVISED: Sr. Universal Banker, Universal Banker, Teller

EXPERIENCE: Three to five years of similar or related experience. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products, specifically WORD, EXCEL and PowerPoint.

EDUCATION: A two-year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school.
