Position Summary
The Visiting Research Associate I will provide project coordination for the HRSA grant Primary Care Training and Enhancement ‐ Language and Disability Access, which funds a five year award with the purpose of developing curricula at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Medicine to train medical students to provide high-quality primary care services to individuals with physical disabilities (PD) and/or intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) with the goal of improving health outcomes for these populations. The research associate will work with the Principal Investigator, Steering Committee, and all grant personnel in order to meet the research and training objectives of the HRSA grant.

 

The ideal candidate for this position needs to be dependable, knowledgeable, personable, well-organized, and self-motivated.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and maintain the many moving pieces of the grant and educational programing.
  • Maintain communication between HRSA, the grant investigators, the various clinical and community partners, and the students.
  • Participate in research study activities such as participant recruitment and retention, participant scheduling and payment, and IRB submissions.
  • Develop a master schedule for creation of the modules and coordinate the module development.
  • Create a personalized schedule for each clerkship student prior to onboarding.
  • Develop vendor relationships, affiliation agreements and memoranda of understandings (MOU).
  • Schedule the grant steering committee and take minutes.
  • Track and organize data collection and monitor and evaluate intervention progress for research objectives, and submit reports to HRSA.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

 

 

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in social science or related field required.
  • Knowledge of fundamental research concepts, practices and procedures.
  • Entry level knowledge of research methods.
