Willowbridge Community Services is a not-for-profit organization offering developmental services and counselling across Hamilton, Brantford, Niagara, and Haldimand Norfolk. Here, we believe that everyone deserves relationship, community, and celebration.
Willowbridge Community Services provides behaviour consultation using applied behaviour analysis (ABA) to support individuals with developmental disabilities. We explore with individuals their strengths and resources they can use to overcome the challenges they are facing. We use a trauma and attachment informed lens to our behaviour consultation model that is welcoming and safe, where our clients, their families and service providers can find solutions to help reach their potential, harness their strengths and support their goals of participating more fully in their community through work, play and friendship.
Our Behaviour Consultants provide person-centred service focusing on improving relationships, wellbeing, and healing from trauma. We teach the skills for handling difficult situations, making healthy decisions, and reaching goals.

About The Role:
• Conduct comprehensive strength-based, relationship-centered assessments that are grounded in an understanding of the individual and family trauma and its impact on attachment, the individual’s developmental abilities, mental health needs, person’s health, strengths and preferences.
• Incorporate under the guidance of the manager and a Board Certified Behaviour Analysis (BCBA) or registered psychologist, the assessment results into a behaviour plan using strategies that reflect the person’s wishes and needs as well as input from significant others in the individual’s life.
• Provide response supports and services through the Ontario Autism Program-Urgent Response (OAP-UR) mechanism, working flexible hours including Saturdays to meet the needs of children and families.
• Collaborate with the individual, family and support team for the successful completion of the goals in the behaviour plan.
• Utilize a trauma informed/positive systems approach to support the implementation of the Behaviour Support plan, conduct regular meetings with the family/support staff, review or revise the plan in consultation with the BCBA or clinical psychologist and measure the success in reaching the individuals goals.
• Provide on-site trauma informed behaviour consultation or workshops to service providers in the community, such as schools, group homes, and vocational/day program settings.
• Advocate on behalf of the individual and/or primary care provider as necessary.
• Provide guidance and interventions, teach skills, and facilitate group work as required.
What We’re Looking For:
• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in a social science or human services field and/or 3-year college diploma in social science or human services field with 2 years clinical experience in a social service setting (that is deemed by Willowbridge as equivalent to a Bachelor degree).
• Experience with individuals with a developmental disability and a dual diagnosis.
• Training in understanding the role of behaviour.

• Knowledge and understanding of trauma and intergenerational trauma and its effects on attachment.
• Understanding of the service delivery system in the not-for-profit sector.
• Designation as a Board-Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) will be considered an asset.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Proven ability to work as part of a team and independently.
• Ability to handle multiple demands in manner that facilitates collaboration.
• Proficient competency with Microsoft Office and Client Database Applications.
