The Nature Conservancy in Indiana is seeking a Conservation Executive Assistant to support our conservation leadership. We’re looking for someone with strong experience in being a part of a diverse, multi-disciplinary team. They should have exceptional communication and collaboration skills, be comfortable adapting to change, and have experience providing administrative support to a director and team. The Conservation Executive Assistant will provide direct administrative support to the Indiana Director of Conservation who is the supervisor for this position. The position will also provide administrative support for strategy leads in Indiana focused on freshwater and land protection. The Executive Assistant will be responsible for a variety of administrative support tasks, which may include extensive domestic and international travel arrangements, calendar management, drafting correspondence, processing expenses, assistance with budgeting and tracking project deliverables, and scheduling and coordination of logistics of meetings and special events. They will use available systems and resources to produce reports, track and provide regular updates on grant deliverables and conservation metrics, and be responsible for completing other forms and documents. They will provide guidance in satisfying administrative requirements based on extensive knowledge of policies and procedures. They will implement processes and practices to improve effectiveness and may also collaborate with colleagues across the Conservancy’s Midwest Division. The Executive Assistant will coordinate activities with multiple variables, ensuring deadlines are met and helping to manage the timeline. They will communicate on behalf of their supervisor with staff in various programs across the Conservancy; as well as with donors, vendors, and business relations. They will effectively communicate or distribute information to assist staff in making decisions, solving problems, and improving workflow’ and perform administrative functions for various programs, as required.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree and 2 years of related experience; or equivalent combination.  They will have experience generating reports and interpreting date; writing, editing, and proofreading; organizing time and managing diverse activities; working across teams and communicating with a wide range of people.  They will exercise independent judgement based on analysis and experience; act as a resource to others to solve problems; and coordinate projects within a defined timeline and budget.  The work involves sensitivity in handling confidential information; ensuring compliance with TNC’s policies and procedures; and occasional travel and long work hours.

This full-time, salaried, hybrid position is based at our office in Indianapolis, Indiana with remote work available up to 2 days a week. The starting pay range for this position is generally within $54,000 – $57,500 annually, based on a variety of factors, including the candidate’s location, qualifications, specific skills, experience, and internal equity.
