Full-Time Head of Governance Compliance and Risk

The Royal College of Surgeons of England (‘RCS England’) is seeking a talented professional to join them as ‘Head of Governance Compliance and Risk’, for an initial fixed term of 12 months.

Whilst this is a 12 month fixed term contract, there is a strong possibility that there will be a permanent version of this post created, in the next few months.

Reporting into the Executive Director for Membership, Marketing & Communications, this post involves working closely with the President, Chief Executive, Executive Directors, senior leaders.  As this ‘Head of’, you will perform a key role at the very heart of this iconic and progressive College’s activities.

You will lead and develop the central Governance and Secretariat services including risk management for the College’s Board, Council, and their key committees, as well as advising on governance and processes.

As the lead ambassador of this function, you will need to exude professionalism, customer service, and ensure that your team delivers and maintains a level of excellence in all its interactions and provision of support services.

Training can be readily provided in the area of Risk Management and Internal Audit for the new post-holder, if this required due to lack of experience in this particular area.

 

Key Facts:

Whilst this a 12-month fixed term contract, there is a strong possibility that there will be a perm version of this role.

Salary: up to c. £60,000 per annum + impressive staff benefits, including: 21.6% employer pension contribution; enhanced holiday pay, plus up to 4 college closure days per year.

Hybrid working: typically 3 days per week in RCS England’s superb offices in Holborn (London), blended with typically 2 days working from home.

Part-time: our client welcomes applicants looking for a 0.8 FTE / 4 day a week post, as an alternative to a full-time position.
