Full-Time Assessment Program Manager

Job Description

The Oregon Health Authority (OHA), Public Health Division (PHD), Environmental Public Health (EPH) section in Portland, Oregon is recruiting for an Assessment Program Manager to manage the Assessment Unit of the Environmental Public Health Section; the Unit includes the Climate and Health Program and the Environmental Toxics team. The Unit manager directs and oversees the work of professional employees. This position also is responsible for operationalizing equity best practices in the Unit and providing related guidance to the Environmental Public Health section.

 

What will you do?
As an Assessment Program Manager, you will perform the following duties:

  • Establishes program priorities and directs implementation of federal grant and state-funded work plans in consultation with staff, funding agencies and other state programs in alignment with OHA’s strategic goal to eliminate health inequities in Oregon and policy direction from leadership.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

  • Provides leadership in operationalizing equity best practices across the section.
  • Recommends revisions to agency, section and unit policy and procedures.
  • Identifies emerging areas of concern and approaches to address issues.

Primarily office work with both local and long-distance trips for meetings outside of the office with partners and interested parties; local and long-distance travel for grant-related meetings. You must have a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record. If not, you must be able to provide an alternate method of transportation. Most work can be done remotely; capability to work remotely is desired. The primary work location listed in this announcement, the Portland State Office Building located at 800 NE Oregon Street, Portland, OR 97232. Work location can be changed at any time at the discretion of the hiring manager.

 

 

 

 

What are we looking for?

Minimum Requirements

Five years of lead work, supervision, or progressively related experience

OR

Two years of related experience and a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
