Temporary Athletic Trainer Per-Diem

Job Description

The Per Diem Athletic Trainer will be responsible for home game coverage, athletic injury care for student-athletes during home games, injury prevention, and communication with coaching and nursing staff members.   • Fall season ends November 11th.
  • Winter season starts November 27th and ends March 8th.
  • Spring Season Starts March 25th and ends June 2

Responsibilities

  • Manage, treat, and rehabilitate student athletic injuries
  • Provide pre-game preventive care to student athletes
  • Critical team member who implements the School’s ImPACT Concussion testing
  • Work with Health & Wellness to keep an up-to-date Concussion Protocol
  • Communicate injury to the School nursing staff, coaches, and Director of Athletics
  • Determine an athlete’s readiness to participate in athletics and help determine return-to-play decisions with guidance from school nursing staff when necessary
  • Track and record athletic training supply needs to inform Athletic Director
  • Suggest workout routines and exercise regimens to athletics and coaching staff as preventive care for student-athletes
  • Interact with students, colleagues, consultants, and members of the public in a courteous and respectful manner
  • The Athletic Trainer must be available during specified times and be a presence during home game days.
  • The Athletic Trainer will be available in the training room 30 minutes before a game. Games are typically on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Qualifications

  • 2 years of experience as an Athletic Trainer
  • NATA certified and Massachusetts State Licensed or eligible at the time of employment
  • Availability to work afternoons, evenings, and weekends, depending on game schedules
  • Ability to work outdoors
  • Certification in CPR/AED and First Aid
  • Demonstrated commitment to equity and inclusion and to serving a diverse, global community

Pay Rate: $100 for 1 game and $200 for 2 or more concurrent games
