Full-Time Data Automation Systems Engineer II

Job Description

About the role:

As the Data Automation Systems Engineer, you will be an important player in the design, specification, implementation, validation, support, and continuous improvement of Data Automation Systems at Takeda, including OSIsoft’s PI Historian, RT reports, Mettler Toledo LabX software, and Emerson Plant web optics. You will collaborate with stakeholders and other organizations for system improvements and maintaining operations. You will partner with Manufacturing, Facilities, Manufacturing Technical Services, Quality Assurance, and Validation. You will report to the Automation Lead.

How you will contribute:

  • Provide generation of all supporting documentation (scope documents; approval slides; work orders; protocols).
  • Implement changes as specified in requirements documents according to Takeda change processes and engineering standard practices.
  • Work with vendors to obtain proposals for hardware and software changes and oversee Contractor deliverables and adherence to Takeda procedures.
  • Provide project team with system requirements.
  • Approve and execute system validation protocols.
  • Provide Impact Assessments for changes to Automation systems and solutions to Data Automation systems operational issues.
  • Execute routine change requests within Takeda Data Automation Systems and manage system access and user accounts.
  • Perform Preventative Maintenance tasks for Data Automation Systems.
  • Maintain design specifications and develop and revise automation related SOPs
  • Be a subject matter expert for quality systems associated with Data Automation Systems.
  • Maintain system and application backups, virus protection, operating system patches.
  • Will function as a technical expert to equipment and systems regarding troubleshooting and operations.
  • Apply diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices to a broad variety of assignments and related fields.
  • Work with teams in developing requirements and recommendations for complex automation system modifications.

What you bring to Takeda:

  • 3 years of experience with Automation Systems
  • Experience with GMP requirements
  • Experience with SDLC (Software design lifecycle) and CSV (Computer System Validation)
  • Prior experience with Data Automation systems including OSIsoft PI Historian, Mettler Toledo LabX system, RT Reports, and/or Emerson Plant Web Optics.
  • Background in Automation including SCADA, PLC, OPC, Continuous/Batch Historians and DCS Based control systems (DeltaV, Rockwell, Siemens, iFix).
  • ISA-88 (standards and terminology for batch control)
  • Understanding of Data Integrity.
  • Can manage the automation lifecycle of controls components.
