OPERATIONS/COMPLIANCE ASSOCIATE
NorthBridge is looking for an Associate to join the Operations/Compliance Team in a unique role within a growing real estate investment manager. This position is an interdisciplinary role primarily supporting the firm’s operations initiatives, legal and compliance. The role will require the development of collaborative relationships with the senior executive team, portfolio management/investment teams, legal teams and the accounting group and provides an opportunity to gain exposure to all of the firm’s verticals. A successful candidate will play a key role in the operations and compliance efforts of the company, driving efficiency, creating new procedures, and focusing on both the internal and outward facing deliverables and communications of the Operations Team.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist the Managing Partner/General Counsel and the COO on company operations (SEC compliance and company policies)
- Work with General Counsel and COO on various company-level initiatives including implementation of new processes, policies and technologies across company verticals
- Work with firms’ various legal team (transaction and fund counsel) to assist in coordination of transaction documentation
- Assist in new fund formation and venture management including preparation and review of marketing and investor materials, investor targeting and tracking, and investor closing / onboarding
- Work collaboratively with acquisitions, asset management/property management, finance and accounting, and senior management to support operational initiatives
- Assist in maintenance of database for all reporting deliverables and tracking various deadlines stated in venture documents and side letters
QUALIFICATIONS

- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, are imperative
- Demonstrate fundamental knowledge of institutional private real estate fund products and how these vehicles are structured
- Must be a self-starter with strong organizational skills, problem solving skills and extreme attention to detail when working in a fast-paced, multiple-task environment
- Dedicated team player with a strong sense of ownership and follow-through skills
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Four-year college or university degree required
- 3-5 years in a compliance/operations/finance role with an adviser or manager of alternative investment strategies (such as real estate, private equity, or hedge funds)
- Legal experience is a plus
