Full-Time Residential Services Supervisor (Bilingual – Manual Communication) # 29319
Job Description
- Independently, provides guidance in assessing the individual functioning of each student and developing an individual treatment program for each student.
- Serves as a working supervisor.
- Plans and conducts staff meetings to review development of children and discuss problems.
- Communicates with individuals (who are deaf or hard of hearing) by utilizing manual communication.
- Provides training and on-going assistance to residential care staff.
- Serves as duty officer on a rotational basis, remains on-call on weekends for emergencies in the residential program.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above.
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to an Associate of Arts Degree, with course work in the health and human services field, plus two (2) years direct care experience in a mental health/rehabilitation setting.
- Requires the ability to communicate with individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing using manual sign language at Intermediate Plus level on the SLPI rating scale (Sign Language Proficiency Interview).
- Two (2) years of professional experience thinking independently with strong organizational, interpersonal, problem solving, leadership, and attention to detail skills.
- Two (2) years of direct care experience working with individuals in a rehabilitation residential care setting.
- Two (2) years of professional experience assessing operational needs and delegating to staff appropriately in a public or private organization.
- One (1) year of professional experience communicating effectively orally and in writing.
- One (1) year of professional experience performing quality assurance activities.
- Two (2) years of experience in guidance and training of staff.
- Requires the ability to work after business hours, weekends, and holidays.
- Requires ability to pass the IDHS background check.
- Requires ability to pass a drug screen for drugs prohibited from recreational use under Illinois Law
