The mission of the Office of Institutional Research is to collect, analyze, interpret, and disseminate trustworthy and official University data and provide leadership for critical data-informed decision-making that supports the strategic goals of the University, the state, and the region. Position Summary:

The Senior Research Analyst (Staff Associate) is responsible for the reporting of institutional data that support institutional decision-making and planning at the University, as well as mandated reporting to state and federal agencies. The Senior Research Analyst will support the execution of research studies and qualitative and quantitative data collection, analysis, and dissemination of results with an explicit focus of equity embedded within their work.

This is an APA position and is subject to the terms of that union agreement.
Tour of Duty: Monday – Friday, 8:30 – 5:00
This position is located on campus in Bridgewater, MA. This position is eligible for hybrid / remote work in accordance with BSU remote work policy.

Essential Duties:

• Under the direction of the Associate Director, responsible for the submission of data for mandated reporting to state, federal, and other external agencies, including HEIRS II and IPEDS.
• Work collaboratively to design and conduct qualitative and quantitative institutional research studies that support continuous improvement, data-informed decision-making, and strategic planning at BSU.
• Analyze qualitative and quantitative data using appropriate statistical methods, interpret research findings and use appropriate methods to report such findings, including tools such as Tableau, SPSS, NVIVO, Qualtrics, or other software.
• Administer, analyze, and report on various institutional surveys, including the Graduating Senior Survey, Campus Climate Survey, CIRP and NSSE.
• Work with IR staff to write reports and/or develop dashboards to disseminate results to the campus community.
• Work with IR staff to validate data for Tableau and University Data Stream reports.
• Perform other duties as may arise.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in a field where quantitative skills are required.
• Knowledge of basic statistical methods.
• Experience with SPSS, Microsoft Office, and online survey software/products
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle and interpret statistical data.
• Interest in learning new technologies
• Knowledge of higher education principles, practices, and procedures.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of constituencies, including staff, faculty, and administrators.
• Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills are required. Must be able to communicate to both technical and business audiences.
• Ability to write clear and comprehensive reports, instructions, business process documentation and training materials is expected.
• Demonstrated commitment to equity and desire to provide world-class customer service.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree with a focus on quantitative or educational research or higher education.
• Prior Institutional Research, evaluation, or higher education experience.
• Knowledge of higher education reporting requirements.
• Experience building Tableau reports and dashboards.
• Working knowledge of Banner.
• Working knowledge of business intelligence reporting (ARGOS).
• Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace.
