The Training and Curriculum Coordinator’s central work is to provide and maintain high quality and effective delivery of comprehensive content that informs and develops Seattle-King County WorkSource staff and partner agencies. This position may additionally functionally lead a team of workshop facilitators and individual trainers. This role is responsible for consistent and high-quality training and technical assistance to ensure the WorkSource staff are providing the highest and most consistent quality service to a wide array of job seekers in King County. This role also manages the Learning Management System (LMS) for the Seattle-King Country WorkSource, ensuring the materials and staff data within the system are kept up to date and back-end updates are regularly completed.

This role works to collaborate and partner with King County Workforce partners, agency managers and staff to cultivate relationships with community-based organizations that serve priority populations. This position is full time and in-office at one of the WorkSource locations in Seattle-King County region. Women, minorities and veterans encouraged to apply!

ABOUT THE JOB

The major responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

WorkSource System Training

  • Provide training to team members, provide technical assistance to learners navigating the platform; lead future initiatives that result in expanding our workshop service offerings.  Training for staff to focus on professional development needs including:
  1.    Orientation to WorkSource system structure and Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA)
  2.     Equal Opportunity training and recertification
  3.     Training in auxiliary aides, adaptive equipment, and language access
  4.     WIOA policy
  5.     Unite Us
  6.     Facilitation
  7.     Career Pathways (with the WorkSource Business Services team and training providers)
  8.     Digital Navigation & Digital Resources
  • Ensure center staff are cross-trained, as appropriate, to increase staff capacity, expertise, and efficiency.
  • Develop a delivery and tracking system to ensure staff are trained for the 7 core competency proficiencies:
  1.     Customer Services and Diversity at WorkSource
  2.     The Workforce Development System
  3.     Career Development Process
  4.     Communication, Collaboration, and Problem-Solving
  5.     Business and Employer Knowledge
  6.     Labor Market Information
  7.     ETO system data entry for case management
  • Create an environment that values and promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion among staff, partners, and customers.
  • Conduct or participate in workshops, committees, and conferences designed to provide learning to Seattle-King County WorkSource staff and partners throughout the Seattle and King County region.

Learning Management Systems

  • Track utilization of current assessment offerings, evaluate effectiveness, seek additional resources, and recommend changes/updates to our offerings.
  • Participate in developing and expanding the training using data; gain technical acumen to make adjustments and improvements as needed.

Reporting and Assessments

  • Interpret qualitative and quantitative analysis to conduct comprehensive evaluations of WorkSource King County programs, workshops, and curricula to assess the effectiveness of career and training services.
  • Lead and participate in the implementation of surveying and analysis to evaluate processes and procedures with team input to provide modification recommendations to the Integrated Service Delivery Coordinator.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and engage with team members to provide day-to-day feedback regarding performance observations.

EXPERIENCE/POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Required

  • A Bachelor’s Degree (or commensurate experience) in: Education, Human Resources, Social Work, Communication, Workforce Development, Psychology, Sociology, or Social Services’ related field. Two years of experience in workforce development may substitute for the degree requirement.
  • Basic user knowledge working in a digital learning platform or LMS (i.e., Coursera, Learning Exchange)
  • Minimum one-year of experience working with workforce development, social services, job placement, job development, sales, job coaching, employment and training, or related field.
  • Lived experience or experience working with populations impacted by poverty and/or trauma
  • Requires use of: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, LinkedIn, and other business-related networking applications, as appropriate.
  • Requires flexibility in working some evening and/or weekend hours.
  • Must be able to work in a culturally diverse and fast-paced environment, and demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and cultural competency.
  • Daily availability of personal vehicle or alternate method of transportation sufficient to meet the daily transportation requirements of the position is a condition of employment. Copies of driver’s license and auto liability insurance coverage is required for personnel file at time of hire and annually thereafter.

Preferred

  • Certified Workforce Development Professional (CWDP) credential.
  • Advanced user knowledge working in a digital learning platform or LMS (i.e., Coursera, Learning Exchange). Experience in curriculum development, testing, implementation
  • Demonstrated Leadership experience
  • Two to three years of demonstrated experience required performing work related to client recruitment and enrollment, classroom instruction, career assessment and planning, support services, occupational training, workplace readiness, job placement, records maintenance, and outcomes reporting.

Job: Training Coordinator – King County
Primary Location: King County
Salary: Full salary range is: $61,250 – $89,000 Annually. Well qualified candidates may receive an offer up to $68,188 annually (DOE)
