The Role:
You’ll be an active collaborator on the Live Testing team which is directly responsible for providing a reliable and unified experience for running manual tests. The work includes a mix of feature development, reviewing, planning, and contributing to initiatives. These will promote growth in your strengths and abilities. You will find we are a very eager and supporting team interested in growing together. We are not looking for individuals that can do it all, collaboration is key. We want to be proud of what we build but also kind, flexible and calm especially in emergencies.
We are looking for an experienced candidate but we don’t expect you to know it all in your first week. We are looking for someone with solid fundamentals, who can teach, learn and do teamwork.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in the entire development life cycle, from planning through implementation, documentation, testing, and deployment, all the way to monitoring.
- Produce high quality, maintainable code with test coverage and documentation.
- Ensure high observability standards for services and systems through the application of monitoring tools and methodologies.
- Strive for constant improvement and contribute to the power of our agile development culture.
- Work with the frontend and backend engineers to ensure consistent delivery as needed
- Be a part of an on-call rotation
Requirements:
- 4+ years of experience developing web applications in a modern Javascript framework (React), a state management tool (Redux), and with consuming REST APIs.
- Experience in writing unit and/or end-to-end tests
- Knowledge of Typescript
- Some experience working with backend languages like Python, Java, and/or Kotlin.
- Knowledge working with containerized technologies
- Good understanding of asynchronous programming paradigms
- Strong sense of ownership and passion for engineering great products.
Nice to haves (optional):
- Knowledge of React Testing Library
- Knowledge of Tailwind framework
- Hands on experience with Docker and container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes Helm
- Experience with CI/CD tools (Gitlab Pipelines)
- Experience contributing to open source projects
