Job title:   Head of Examinations

Salary range:    £46,185 – £49,183

Type of contract: 12 months fixed term

Location:   London, Hybrid

Working hours:   35 hours per week

 

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Examinations to join our team. This position is based in the Examinations department and answers to the Director of Examinations & Assessment.

As Head of Examinations you will play an instrumental role in the operational delivery of the College’s gold standard membership examinations to 10,000 candidates annually, in over 45 countries globally.

Working with the Examinations Manager and the Director of Examinations and Assessment, you will provide operational expertise in the delivery of high volume, high stakes postgraduate exams that are a critical career progression component for Obstetrics & Gynaecology doctors. You will provide professional expertise in postgraduate examinations to support the RCOG Council, Officers, Fellows, Members and Trainees, College staff and all partner organisations as well as providing strategic, operational leadership to staff in the department.

Responsibilities:

  • Delivery of the MRCOG Part 1, Part 2 & Part 3 examinations as well as the Diploma examination DRCOG, including all stages of the examinations lifecycle: paper production, event delivery and results processing.
  • Ensure the examinations are delivered to the highest professional standards and are subject to rigorous quality assurance.
  • To oversee the standard setting process for all examinations and the analysis of exam outcomes.
  • Manage the Examinations Department by providing line management, support and guidance to the team.

 

About you

As the ideal candidate you will have:

  • Significant experience of working in high stakes examinations
  • Knowledge of operational planning and development
  • Experience of working within the UK medical education regulatory framework environment
  • The ability to successfully manage a high volume, fast paced and dynamic portfolio of work
  • The skills to develop and maintain global stakeholder relationships
