Location: 2800 W 7th Ave, Denver  

Work Year: Traditional 245 work days – AMLG/FMGR/GRND/PROTECH

FTE: 1.0

Salary Range: $31.64 – $36.52 per hour + benefits + work/life balance + ColoradoPERA retirement

  

Essential Functions and Objectives:

 

Repairs and maintains grounds heavy equipment and small engines that meets or exceeds current industry standards.

 

– Troubleshoots, diagnoses and repairs for District heavy equipment. Performs scheduled maintenance on District heavy equipment and small engines.

-Prepares and cleans up job site, taking into consideration safety concerns of self and others, and disposes of waste and flammable materials.

– Performs inventory supply activities, tracking and stock supplies and materials.

– Tracks warranty and preventive maintenance for district equipment and parts.

– Operates and troubleshoots problems for repair in hydraulic, air-operated and electrical systems.

Tracks and monitors preventive maintenance program for small engines, using computer based system to record maintenance and repair history.

– Diagnoses, repairs, and replaces motor control circuits using schematics and diagrams.

– Diagnoses malfunctioning equipment, according to blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and manufacturer service manual. Replaces and replaces faulty components. Troubleshoots, diagnoses and repairs district white fleet GPS.

– Reviews work orders, prioritizes, and determines supplies for repair and purchases supplies using District purchase order system.

– Performs work and cross trains in at least one other trade as an apprentice.

– Assists with snow removal efforts on a 24 hour on-call basis.

– Responds to emergencies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.– Trains and mentors staff.– Bids on work requested by schools, and prepares quotes.– Inspects work of independent contractors, identifies deficiencies, and communicates with project manager about correcting deficiencies according to code and DPS specifications.– Delivers formal classroom training to Facility Maintenance staff.

Knowledge, Experience, & Other Qualifications:

 
– Two to ten years experience and training; minimum as follows: L1: Two (2) years related experience, L2: Four (4) years experience, L3: Ten (10) years journeyman experience, including one (1) year internal experience, District specific training or equivalent required for all levels. 

– Must have and maintain a valid Colorado Driver’s License and meet District insurability standards. 

– Must have the ability to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)– Experience establishing computer based preventative maintenance software program preferred. – Experience in troubleshooting complex automotive electrical systems preferred. 

Education Requirements:

– High school diploma or equivalent.
