Reporting to the City Manager, the Deputy City Manager, Infrastructure Services (DCM) oversees an operating budget of $2.7B. The DCM assists the City Manager in the administration and operation of the City by providing executive oversight and leadership to leading the portfolios of Engineering & Construction, Transit Expansion, Municipal Licensing & Standards, Office of Emergency Management, Policy, Planning, Finance & Administration, Transportation Services and Toronto Water. The DCM ensures that those divisions and offices are performing at a high level of efficiency, with a focus on the effective coordination across the service area and corporation broadly to provide high-quality customer service for the residents of Toronto while achieving measurable outcomes towards Council’s priorities. The DCM is accountable to the City Manager, the Mayor and City Council in ensuring that approved outcomes are achieved in a cost-effective manner, and with accountability to the multi-stakeholder environment in which the City programs operate.

 

As the ideal candidate you bring a minimum of 15 years of senior leadership experience in complex infrastructure-oriented organizations. Reflecting a citizen-centric approach, you are known as being inclusive, consultative, operative, and for your process reengineering thinking. You are committed to building a supportive culture and empowered teams that are driven and motivated. You have held high profile roles that require transparency, public accountability, and well-developed political acuity.
