Position Purpose
Assist the Regulatory Services department in meeting a broad range of regulatory initiatives, filing requirements and rate related activities with high quality analyses, studies, presentations, and testimony to ensure that Unitil’s credibility with regulatory agencies is maintained by providing investigative and analytical support.
Principal Accountabilities
Investigate, analyze, and prepare studies, analysis, and activities in assigned areas including pricing research, analysis, and design, load research, tariff administration, revenue requirements and cost of service calculations, economic analysis, customer research, and other analytical services using efficient methods and practices, to support internal needs and external regulatory requirements. Maintain up-to-date information in assigned areas.
Prepare, file, support, and coordinate a broad range of regulatory initiatives, filing requirements and rate related activities with high quality analyses, studies, presentations, testimony and communication with regulatory authorities to ensure that Unitil’s credibility with regulatory agencies is maintained. Coordinate cross functional areas in order to meet and support regulatory mandates or strategic objectives.
Owns control activities related to areas of responsibility and assesses risks and implements improvements as needed.
Coordinate and draft responses to discovery from regulatory agencies and interveners in support of the regulatory filings as necessary.
Miscellaneous Departmental support, ad hoc analysis as necessary, and assume emergency response role.
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics or equivalent.
- Minimum of three to five years of professional experience in regulatory, corporate finance or accounting with utility or regulatory experience preferred.
- Strong analytical and organization skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability in working across functional/organizational boundaries.
- Excellent PC skills in Microsoft Office products (Excel Power Query a plus), internet tools and other specialized software.
