Full-Time Mental Health Technician Technician III MC

Job Description

Under direct supervision serves as lead worker and relief shift charge to lower level Mental HealthTechnicians for a designated living area and shift. Provides physical support with personal care services toindividuals; conducts individual and group programs; verifies individual’s safety through monitoring andsupervision; teaches and directs individuals in the maintenance of a clean, safe and secure environment. Ensures for compliance with Illinois Department of Public Health requirements when performing duties. Utilizes manual communication in performance of duties with individuals who are deaf and/or hard ofhearing.
Job Responsibilities
1.
Serves as relief shift charge to lower level Mental Health Technicians for a designated living area and shift.
2.
Provides physical support with personal care services to individuals.
3.
Verifies individual’s safety and protection through monitoring and supervision.
4.
Serves as designated lead worker.
5.
Monitors and reviews the completion of staff monitoring sheets, data collection reports, progress notes etc.
6.
Directs individuals in the maintenance of a clean, safe and secure environment.
7.
Performs other duties as assigned or required which are reasonably within the scope of the dutiesenumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of high school.
2. Requires successful completion of an approved training program and one year experience in or applicable
to the care, treatment and habilitation of individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
3. Requires the ability to communicate with individuals who are deaf and/or hard of hearing using manual
communication at a colloquial skill level.
Conditions of Employment
1. Requires ability to physically restrain individuals as medically necessary to prevent injury to the patient or
others
2. Requires ability to pass the IDHS background check.
3. Requires ability to pass a drug screen for drugs prohibited from recreational use under Illinois Law.
4. Requires the ability to meet all agency vaccine/health-related policies and guidance.
Work Hours: Sun – Thurs, 2:30pm – 11:00pm
