Title: Staff Accountant

Hours: Full-time

Location: Brooklyn, NY or Remote. (BioLite has a hybrid work model where employees are in the office 1-2 days per week.)

Reports to: Global Controller

Compensation: Salary range is 60,000 to 70,000, depending on candidate’s experience. Our full offer includes benefits like fully covered healthcare, company bonus plan, and equity stock options.

This Role:

We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, and engaged Staff Accountant to assist the Global Controller in managing corporate expenditures. You will account for cash and cash equivalents, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accounts payable, and accrued liabilities.

You Will:

  • Oversee the accounts payable process: review/enter vendor invoices ensuring coding and appropriate documentation, maintains vendor relationships, and coordinates periodic payments.
  • Investigate and resolve PO-related invoice discrepancies by partnering with Supply Chain, Operations, and Logistics team on such matters.
  • Review corporate card activity ensuring proper coding and receipts as outlined in the corporate expense policy.
  • Assist the Controller in implementing accounts payables procedures.
  • Participate in monthly/annual close process; prepare journal entries, accruals/deferrals, account reconciliations, supporting working papers, and perform variance analysis on assigned accounts.
  • Maintain asset schedules and prepares related journal entries (depreciation, disposal, etc.)
  • Perform other responsibilities, functions, and special projects as assigned by the Controller including assisting with revenue accounting activities.

You Have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field.
  • 5 years’ experience with accounts payable or general ledger accounting.
  • Advanced mathematical and logical deduction skills.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced level user in Excel spreadsheets
  • Familiarity with an ERP system and accounts payable management software system.
  • Detail-oriented and organized – able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Self-motivated and able to seek out new opportunities
