Position Description 

 

The Credentialing Coordinator will report to the Credentialing & Enrollment Team Lead.  As a member of the Credentialing team, The Credentialing Coordinator is responsible for maintaining active status for all providers by successfully completing credentialing applications as required by commercial payers, Medicare and Medicaid.

 

Flexibility and a willingness to perform varying tasks to support the team and organization are a must.

 

Specifically, you will:

 

  • Maintain individual provider files to include up to date information needed to complete the required governmental and commercial payer credentialing applications
  • Maintain internal provider grid to ensure all information is accurate and logins are available
  • Update each provider’s CAQH database file timely according to the schedule published by CMS
  • Update all provider licenses; Professional, DEA, Controlled Substance and etc in softwares
  • Complete revalidation requests issued by government payers
  • Complete re-credentialing applications for commercial payers
  • Rre-credential current providers
  • Maintain accurate provider profiles on CAQH profiles
  • Other duties as assigned

 

You’ll be a good fit if you:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Finance, or equivalent experience.
  • Have a minimum of 2 years experience in medical group credentialing & enrollment
  • Have prior experience working in a behavioral health setting preferred.
  • Have strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Are a creative problem solver.
  • Enjoy working in collaborative environments.
  • Have solid experience with Excel (required), G Suite, Business Intelligence platforms (Mode, Tableau, etc), project management software, Practice Management systems (athenahealth preferred).

  • Knowledge of provider credentialing and its direct impact on the practice’s revenue cycle
  • Detail oriented with above average organizational skills
  • Plans and prioritizes to meet deadlines
  • Excellent customer service skills; communicates clearly and effectively
