We are currently hiring for the position of:

SENIOR COORDINATOR, FILM CIRCUIT

 

Reporting to the Programme Manager, Non-Theatrical, the Senior Coordinator, Film Circuit is responsible for organizing satellite screenings in collaboration with grassroots organizers across Ontario during the Festival, ensuring the successful execution of all bookings and contributing to the overall relaunch of the Film Circuit programme.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Programming in consultation with satellite screening communities and Film Circuit groups.
  • Previewing Canadian and international films for inclusion in satellite screenings, including attending off-site trade screenings, on-site preview screenings leading up to Festival, and previewing screeners.
  • Liaising with distribution partners and exhibitors to confirm film bookings, rates, and availability.
  • Coordinating distributors, Film Circuit organizers and our Film and Digital Print Services department to help ensure the on-time delivery of films, and if applicable, KDMs
  • Liaise with local organizers regarding payment and box office tracking.
  • Assist with reconciliation of satellite screening expenses post-Festival.
  • Curate and write film synopses, programme notes, and key details for the Film Circuit Release Schedule.
  • Support the Event Production team with production-related considerations.
  • Maintain files and records related to the satellite screenings with a high level of accuracy.
  • Collect and distribute promotional materials for organizers as required.
  • Support the planning and execution of the relaunch of the Film Circuit programme.

 

RATE OF PAY:

  • Job Grade 2
  • $25.00/Hourly

 

CONTRACT DATES OR START DATE:

  • August 15, 2022 – October 31, 2022

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3+ years of work experience in arts and culture administration.
  • Film Studies degree or equivalent film industry experience is an asset.
  • Demonstrated passion for film and cinema culture.
  • In-depth understanding of the film industry in Canada. 
  • Ability to work within a dynamic environment and balance multiple priorities; ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational skills and a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly motivated, adaptable and open; performs well under pressure.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, previous customer/client services an asset.
  • Able to handle difficult situations and people with aplomb and grace.
  • Mature personal judgment, exhibiting a high level of professionalism and diplomacy.
  •  Strong coordination skills, proficiency in schedule management and event production.
  • High computer proficiency, including Office Suite, Google Docs.
  • Bilingualism (English/French) would be considered an asset.
  • Ability to produce high-quality work and respond well in fast-paced and high-pressure environments. 
  • Adaptable to a flexible work schedule, including some evenings and weekends.
  • Valid Driver’s License required.
