YOUR OPPORTUNITY

As the Operations Event Planner, you play an integral role in event planning for The Humane League’s individual teams and the organization as a whole. We want you because you have a mission and values-centered orientation and a comprehension of how exceptional event planning can positively influence  performance and success, as well as cohesion of a fully remote team. You are ideal for this position because you have experience with planning events from start to finish; can successfully plan and execute events that are all in person or hybrid; have a growth mindset; and are adept atmanaging multiple, changing priorities while maintaining positivity. You enjoy providing great, person-centered customer service, possess the ability to accept feedback constructively and pivot appropriately. You also exhibit solid problem-solving skills with a dedication to innovative solutions in objective and collaborative settings, and you keep THL’s mission top of mind in all components of event planning. This position reports directly to the Director of Operations.

This is a full-time, remote position. This position requires domestic travel, this is equivalent to approximately 5-10 trips per year and requires reliable transportation to make regular local trips to the post office to ship materials. We are only able to consider applicants who reside in the United States and possess United States work authorization.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Investigates feasibility of proposed events; explores interests, options, success of similar events, applicable regulations; reports findings and makes recommendations.
  • Manages and oversees logistics of major physical, virtual, and hybrid events from planning to debrief
  • Collects, organizes, updates and disseminates printed and digital materials pertinent to events
  • Function as onsite manager in implementing meetings and special events when required
  • Supports events team in proactively handling and troubleshooting during events
  • Prepares event budgets and manages event expenses within budget
  • Manage contract negotiations
  • Maintains detailed files on each event and build resource list of all contacts and event information
  • Participate in strategic planning process for all on-site and hybrid meetings
  • Performs miscellaneous tasks/projects as assigned needed to support THL’s mission
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Experience working in event or conference management
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with a positive, solution-oriented attitude
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Possess excellent attention to detail
  • Available to work flexible hours including weekends/evenings as needed

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Move equipment weighing up to 25 pounds

Starting salary $53,000 or salary to commensurate with experience.
