Job Description

The Equipment Operations Manager provides support to the Events department for assigned national championship and domestic international events and oversees USAV court rentals. This role has a demanding domestic travel schedule from March – July ensuring the timely shipping, receiving, set up and tear down of volleyball courts and equipment. Working hours over these weekends can range from 10 – 14 hours/day. The successful candidate will have experience contracting with freight brokers and securing contract labor for onsite event operations.  Contract management, cost containment and scheduling multiple concurrent activities are essential skills for this position. Extended hours are expected to include nights, weekends, and holidays. When not off-site at events or court rentals, this position will work with the warehouse operations supervisor supporting safe and efficient operations while optimizing warehouse space.  Cross departmental support is a general expectation of all USAV employees.  This position is located in Colorado Springs and works out of a 16,000 sq. ft. warehouse.

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop annual budgets, communicate variances, and meet routinely with Finance to review accounts.
  • Ensure contract terms are met in accordance with timelines to include commercial trucking and court rental leases.
  • Responsible for managing USAV court rentals to tournaments to include creating contracts, arranging round-trip freight transportation to ensure the timely shipping and receiving of equipment, supervising setup and teardown of rental equipment at Lessee locations and invoicing for payment.
  • Supervise day labor and ICs to support court set up, tear down and associated activities.
  • Manage and ensure maintenance of USAV’s warehouse equipment to include repair of equipment and maintaining inventory records.
  • Manage storage requirements and shipping of materials for all USAV Departments/Divisions.
  • Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety in accordance with OSHA
  • Schedule forklift and building maintenance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum five years’ logistics management experience.
  • Intermediate skill level with Microsoft Office Suite applications.
  • Demonstrated experience negotiating contract terms for commercial freight to include shipping and receiving.
  • Experience safely running a forklift, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA requirements.
  • Ability to prioritize competing time sensitive demands.
  • Ability to travel and transport event equipment nation-wide.
  • Able to safely sustain heavy physical labor.
  • Train the trainer forklift certification is desired.
  • Experience working in the sport event field is a plus.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a USAV background screening and complete Safe Sport training.
  • Must successfully complete and maintain SafeSport training as a condition of employment.

Salary: $ 50,000 – $55,000
