Full-Time Coordinator, Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion

Summary:

The JEDI Department is a newly positioned part of the organizational structure at SPLC (established May 2020). The JEDI Department is charged with leading the strategic planning and integration of JEDI principles into SPLC’s policies and practices while fostering a commitment to an anti-racist workplace and cultivating a sense of belonging across the organization. The JEDI Department provides the necessary opportunities to deepen learning and understanding of ourselves and our work from a racially conscious and justice centered approach. The JEDI Department works to ensure that SPLC’s mission, vision, and values are reflected in the organizational culture and climate while being grounded in our relationships with the communities we serve.

The JEDI unit is seeking a Coordinator that will directly report to the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Director. The ideal candidate will be a highly organized, task-oriented, problem-solver with keen attention to detail who is adept at managing vast amounts of information virtually. This role is ideal for someone who is proactive, motivated, and meticulous.

Primary Job Functions:

  • Support training and workshop enrollment;
  • Create registration materials and track participants’ enrollment and participation in JEDI training opportunities;
  • Support the development of our training and workshop monitoring mechanism;
  • Support the development of worksheets, rubrics, and supported video training materials;
  • Coordinate and organize events and registration online and in-person for training workshop events by supporting the planning, registration, and event production for participants and facilitators;
  • Manage participant follow-up after workshops;
  • Maintain participant relationships with post-workshop evaluations, upload recordings to the archive, and track participants’ engagement with the varied training opportunities offered by JEDI;
  • Develops and implements programs that align with the organization’s mission and support the organization’s goals;
  • Working closely with our JEDI Manager & Project Manager to promote programming and training opportunities via appropriate communication channels;
  • Responsible for the virtual and in-person production and logistical support of all trainings and workshops;
  • ;Support internal departmental calendaring mechanism and org-wide calendaring;
  • Support and update internal resource;
  • Provide support to the JEDI Project Manager on program related scheduling and internal communications;
  • Sending post-training feedback forms and compiling responses (i.e. Uploading the recorded training to the organizational archive); and
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications –

Education and Related Work Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in coordinating complex tasks and developing programs;
  • Excellent organizational management skills including calendar management (Microsoft / Office 365 preferred);
  • Proficiency in the standard and advanced use of the various computer applications and programs;
  • Demonstrated effective presentation and facilitation skills; and
  • High school diploma or GED.

  • A demonstrated commitment to continuous learning around justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Be highly organized and detail oriented;
  • Ability to lead multiple work plans and different timelines, objectives and deliverables;
  • Be committed to continually evolving a race equity analysis;
  • Be committed to anti-racism and social justice as personal and professional values;
  • Have advanced interpersonal and public communication skills with a growing skillset to build internal community and culture through a variety of innovative platforms;
  • Be comfortable engaging in courageous internal conversations about JEDI;
  • Commitment to ideals of justice, equity, diversity and inclusion; and
  • Commitment to fostering an anti-racist work culture and to anti-racist principles and learning.

Other Special Considerations:

This job is performed under general office conditions, and is not subject to any strenuous physical demands or dangerous conditions.
