Full-Time Inventory Manager

Job Description

We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for an Inventory Manager to help support our Machine Products location in Carthage, Missouri.

 

As an Inventory Manager you will have the opportunity to manage and monitor inventory levels, keep up the workflow, and check inventory for accuracies. Your contributions will have a direct impact on the business by helping with manufacturing of parts and components, which is a critical part of the company. So, what will you be doing as an Inventory Manager?

 

  • Direct daily activities of inventory personnel
  • Maintains Inventory stock levels
  • Research and add new LPCS and AX part numbers
  • Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels
  • Verify the implementation of solutions
  • Responsible for inventory record accuracy
  • Responsible for organizing and overseeing finished goods and raw material inventories two times a year
  • Manage shipping, receiving, inventory control, and tool crib
  • Have a clear understanding of all processes involved with the position
  • Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformities related to the product, process and /or the system
  • Identify, record and communicate any problems relating to product, process and the management system
  • Monitors slow-moving and obsolete inventory
  • Approves, evaluates and completes inventory adjustments to maintain inventory accuracy
  • Participate in the Continuous Improvement Process
  • Member of Branch Management Team
  • Work with Accountant Assistant and Division Controller on period end financials
  • Review monthly financial records
  • Work with Corporate auditors during Branch audits
  • Control further processing, delivery or installation of nonconforming product until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected
  • Conform to all Quality and Safety requirements and procedures
  • Perform other duties as requested or as deemed appropriate

 

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

  • Strong math and computer skills
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills (verbal & written)
  • Previous materials, inventory, warehouse, shipping and receiving management experience
  • Must be a “Hands on Manager”, and must promote a teamwork environment
  • Must have a cooperative attitude, necessary to work effectively with others
  • Excellent leadership and conflict resolution skills
  • Working knowledge of L&P Accounting Policies and Procedures
  • Ability to conduct an effective meeting by developing and following an agenda
  • Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Must be detail oriented
  • Commitment to Quality Management Systems and Continuous Improvement
  • Commitment to L&P Safety and Environmental initiatives
  • Must have ability to obtain a fork truck license
