Atlantic Ventures is a group within The Atlantic devoted to forming unconventional partnerships to help turn our biggest journalistic ambitions into their most consequential forms. The group is seeking a highly-motivated, results-oriented producer to oversee execution for our largest, cross-platform projects. You’ll collaborate with multiple internal teams including sales, marketing, product, editorial, research/insights, PR, plus external creative partners, and be the key stakeholder in managing client interests on Ventures projects.

The position is responsible for owning the activation process from beginning to end to bring our most ambitious projects to life. We’re looking for a self-starter with project management skills, innovative thinking, strong communication and presentation skills, proven ability to document and solicit requirements from various stakeholders, feedback and commitment to lead high impact projects.

This role reports directly to the Executive Director of Atlantic Ventures.

Please note that this position is for a full time, 16-18 month term.

Who you are: 

You are a leader of people and programs. You thrive in a complex ecosystem, collecting, sharing, and synthesizing input from many directions. You feel comfortable working in a highly-matrixed organization to define and manage priorities. You can communicate sales, creative and technical information at the right level of detail for the appropriate varied audiences. Above all, you are known for exceptional execution capability and respected by clients and colleagues for your ability to manage important projects.

What you’ll do: 

  • Manage execution of sponsored special projects including experiential/event activations, content creation, paid marketing campaigns and more
  • Serving as a client-facing point of contact while assisting the lead client manager on deliverables, presentations, and status calls as needed
  • Cultivate relationships with clients, production partners, and internal teams
  • Demonstrate your ability to lead with authority across a highly-matrixed team
  • Help the Ventures group and its stakeholders to define and plan prioritized program outcomes and measured goals, for The Atlantic brand and our sponsors
  • Develop and maintain an effective communications cadence with cross-company stakeholders
  • Support Business Operations in defining project P&L, scope, staffing and budget needs
  • Support Business Operations and partner with Legal in contracting with clients and partners
  • Proactively identify each programs’ risks, issues and drive their resolution.
  • Effectively manage program budgets, timelines, and content/talent agreements
  • Report on your programs to cross functional stakeholders. Be the trusted speaker on the state of your programs in key checkpoint reviews
  • Facilitate planning and coordination efforts with internal and external teams to support their schedules and planning, tracking, and communicating program delivery expectations with potential and existing stakeholders
  • Organizing promotional efforts including native, social, and external distribution

The ideal candidate has:

  • 5-7 years of client-facing experience in event management and digital media
  • Experience managing projects involving video, audio, photography, sponsored events
  • Ability to both “look up” and think conceptually and “look down” and execute exceptionally
  • A proactive mindset, always planning ahead with the ability to both anticipate and solve problems as they arise
  • A remarkable aptitude for organization, process, and structure
  • Impeccable relationship management skills across numerous internal  and external teams at various levels; ability to convey confidence and authority to clients
  • A calm, cool, and collected mind—a constitution that affords “grace under fire”—coupled with a personality inclined toward perpetual positivity and a sense of possibility
  • Familiarity with project management and billing tools, along with others like Google Suite and Microsoft Excel
  • Enterprising and entrepreneurial team contributor, constantly and eagerly identifies innovative ways to grow business
  • Experience leading execution of entertainment and/or experiential projects
