POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Director of Engagement and Operations, the Resource Development Specialist (RDS) is a newly created position that will play a critical role on the Resource Development (fundraising) team. The RDS will ensure timely and accurate processing of fundraising donations, receipting, and the thanking of UWSL donors. UWSL is a hybrid work environment with the expectation of 20+/- hours in office per week.

YOUR WORK WILL INCLUDE

  1. Process daily gift transactions (online and offline) via UWSL accounting software (Andar) and ensure accurate transfer of donation and donor data to the fundraising database (Salesforce).
  2. Prepares and sends donor correspondence, including annual tax receipts, composing routine and custom thank you acknowledgements.
  3. Create donor records and update donor information.
  4. Ensures data integrity and maintains accurate and organized database records.
  5. Prepare and mail donor acknowledgment thank you letters.
  6. Prepare and mail annual tax receipts.
  7. Execute detail-oriented record keeping of donations and accompanying documentation.
  8. Monitors and responds promptly to donor phones calls and e-mails.
  9. Tracks and researches donor questions, resolves complaints and provides other information to donors.
  10. Supports the planning and implementations of fundraising campaigns, such as creating online giving pages and processing workplace giving campaigns.
  11. Comfortable working in new software and proficient in all MS Office programs.
  12. Generate and analyze reports from the database regarding donations, general funds, events, and other gift accounts.
  13. Maintain files, scanning documents, assist with reconciliations and other duties where needed.

BENEFITS

This is a full-time, non-exempt position. $42,500 to 48,500. Salary depending on experience.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have the ability to take initiative, prioritize workloads, and work independently and as part of a team in a flexible and professional manner.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail.
  • Excellent written communication skills and ability to write in different tone and voice depending on the audience.
  • Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills required.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications.
  • Associate degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICAITONS

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience in non-profit fundraising
  • Proficiency in using a database (Salesforce experience highly preferred)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The employee is regularly required to communicate clearly and exchange accurate information interpersonally or through communication devices. Must be able to learn new systems and procedures, prepare and analyze data and figures, constantly operate a computer and other standard office machinery. The position requires occasional movement throughout the office to access files, papers, or move supplies weighing up to 15lbs. Must be able to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time.
