Overall Responsibilities

The Warehouse Manager is responsible for the general management of a safe, neat, clean, efficient and GMP compliant warehouse area.  S/he is responsible for management of all human resources, equipment, materials and shipping tools. S/he requires constant collaboration and communication with various Department Managers and other senior leaders within the entire organization for all aspects of active projects.

 

Specific Key Responsibilities & Duties

 

  • Maintains receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures
  • Complies with federal, provincial and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions
  • Lead, Mentor and Coach Warehouse Supervisor Staff in a multi-site environment
  • Leverage current Deacom ERP for analysis, continuous improvement opportunities and establish core KPIs for Warehouse performance
  • Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols
  • Controls inventory levels by conducting physical counts; reconciling with data storage system
  • Analyze inventories, develop reporting mechanisms and implement corrective actions to reduce value losses resulting from obsolescence, expiration and transit or warehouse damages
  • Advance and oversee internal processes for materials rejection and returns ensuring efficient disposition
  • Responsible for the facility cycle count program ensuring compliance with fiscal and operation KPI’s
  • Maintain data integrity and inventory accuracy within Deacom and associated systems
  • Maintains physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement
  • Completes warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; follows up on work results
  • Maintains warehouse staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees
  • Maintains warehouse staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Assists the Senior Management team in all aspects of active projects
  • Coordinates with internal and external stakeholders for project execution while ensuring that project requirements are met or exceeded
  • Formulates plans best suited for the specific project and communicate to the team the actions required
  • Meets regularly with the team to obtain status updates and troubleshot any problems that arise
  • Provides updates on all projects as requested by the Senior Management team
  • Works with Department Managers when needed for process Change Control Forms
  • Other duties not included here may be required

 

 

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.S./B.A.) from a four-year college or university and three to five years of manufacturing experience in a progressive leadership role (industry preferred)
  • Leadership capability to manage a Team within an Operations environment
  • Experience in reporting on key Warehouse and Inventory metrics
  • Outstanding communication and collaboration skills
  • Excellent organizational and leaderships skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong decision-making skills and a results-driven approach
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office, including project management, and ERP systems
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Analytical mind with problem-solving aptitude
  • Knowledge of business operations and procedures
