Overall Responsibilities
The Manager, Supply Planning is responsible for developing and maintaining supply plans with their team to satisfy customer demand while carrying minimum effective inventory. The qualified individual will be responsible for providing supply plan(s) consistent with the capacity and sales forecast. The Manger, Supply Planning is responsible for determining and maintaining safety stock levels in accordance with overall business objectives related to customer service and carrying cost. The sales forecasts, new business opportunities, customer expectations, and internal supply constraints will be used to develop plans, by month, for a rolling 12-to-18-month period to support the S&OP process. Strong collaboration with the Business Managers, Operations, Sales, Customer Service, and Management will be critical to meeting business goals.
Specific Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Development and maintain plans that ensure balance between supply and demand and meets corporate inventory and customer service targets.
- Provide leadership, expertise, and best practices to Planners related to weekly operational cycles
- Maintain a balanced rough-cut Long-Range capacity plan as part of the S&OP process.
- Support the S&OP process to review service levels, performance against schedule, inventory strategy, supply plan to meet demand, and resource implications.
- Manage third party relationships for Purchased Finished Goods and co-packing/co-manufacturing.
- Development of supply scenarios and sensitivity analysis (risk) with recommendations to be used in the development of supply strategies.
- Conduct “what if” analysis required for strategy development.
- Through the finite scheduler, ensure a level loaded fixed 4-month production schedule in support of the plan, paying particular attention to inventory levels, plant efficiencies and customer service.
- Monitor actual output versus the plan. Identify gaps and drive solutions.
- Liaise regularly, as key supply contact, with many groups such as the Demand Planning, Quality, R&D, and New Product Development.
- Performs all work in accordance with established regulatory and compliance and safety requirements.
- Understand complex bill of materials and how they impact multiple operational functions
- Will comply with Good Manufacturing Practices in all GMP sensitive areas of Jamieson Laboratories Ltd. facilities
- Complete special projects and initiatives as assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Requirements
- University degree, APICS or other professional planning or logistics certification
- Minimum five (5) years’ experience in a Senior Planning position, preferably in the consumer products industry
- Effective leadership skills
- Demonstrated experience with an MRPII system and MS Office applications
- Proven analytical and operational experience
- Familiar with GMP, and the various practices of the nutritional and pharmaceutical industry
- Ability to produce reports and schedules in a timely and accurate manner
- Strength in inter-personal, teamwork and communication skills
- Experience in both short-term and advanced planning processes
