Director
EAC Network, a not-for-profit social service agency that empowers, assists, and cares for over 82,000 people in need through 100 programs across Long Island and NYC, seeks a Director of Alternative Dispute Resolution Program Development & Training to work full time for its Long Island Dispute Resolution Center (LIDRC) program. The Program Director is a non-exempt position paying $45-55 per hour at 18-21 hours per week. The office is located in Hempstead, NY. The role reports to Senior Director.
Primary Purpose of Job:
The Director of Alternative Dispute Resolution Program Development & Training is responsible for the implementation and expansion of LIDRC programming, ongoing practitioner development training, and promoting services with prospective and existing community organizations and partners.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
- Establish sustainable program development goals, objectives, and strategies and work with Senior Director to bring additional resources to the program.
- Develop a strong working relationship with judges, attorneys, mediators, staff and the public and perform program outreach for the purposes of enhancing existing programs and securing new partners.
- Coordinate and supervise volunteer mediators/neutrals including recruitment, apprenticeship, training, in-service meetings, and evaluations.
- Design, develop and implement training, in-service, and apprenticeship curriculums including fee-based programs.
- Ensure and adhere to quality assurance standards for mediators/neutrals set forth by funding sources.
- Serve as back-up mediator/neutral for all program components.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required:
- Juris Doctorate and license to practice in New York State required with experience in Alternative Dispute Resolution.
- Member in good standing of Nassau and Suffolk Bar associations preferred with knowledge of Nassau and Suffolk court system and conflict resolution programs, policies, and procedures, including standards for confidentiality required.
- Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Must be proficient in computer applications or other automated systems such as spreadsheets, Microsoft Office applications, calendar, email and/or database software including virtual platforms necessary to perform work assignments.
- Must be willing to travel.
- Must have access to an automobile and possess valid New York State Drivers License
