Full-Time Quality Control Office Director

The Position

The Outreach Team is running a side by side Quality Control program with a coalition of organizations that are running voter registration drives nationally to register people of color to vote. As part of the Quality Control team, you will ensure the voting registration drives are impactful by collecting high-quality data about the work and maximize the number of people on the voter rolls. Additionally, you will help organizations doing voter contact and turnout drives by running side-by-side Quality Control programs. By doing Quality Control, YOU can make a difference!

The Quality Control Office Director will manage a team of detail-oriented staff doing the administrative work behind the scenes to make voter registration drives and voter contact drives successful. Office Directors manage teams of up to 60 staff to run quality control on voter registration forms and voter contact shifts across the country. This position starts April 1st, 2022  and runs until October 15th, 2022.

Location: Chicago, New York City, Baltimore, Memphis, Oakland, San Jose, Cleveland, Louisville, New Orleans, Boston, or Detroit preferred but will consider opening an office in another location for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the quality verification of all voter registration forms and voter contact shifts within the required turnaround time.
  • Manage a team of Quality Control Administrators.
  •  Train staff in skills needed to be successful Quality Control Administrators including quality control procedures (form review, phone banking, tracking).
  • Provide ongoing context and motivation for staff.
  • Manage the schedules and quality of work for hourly employees. Ensure company policies are upheld, including holding staff accountable to performance, integrity, health, safety, and professionalism standards.
  • Maintain high standards in the office and provide ongoing feedback and evaluation for staff.
  • Develop top hourly staff into leaders (Shift Managers). Promote, train, and delegate responsibilities.
  • Anticipate workflow and create employee schedules accordingly.
  • Analyze data and report back to Quality Control Specialists to flag trends and problems for partner organizations.
  • Complete administrative duties, including working with the HR Director on payroll, onboarding, and off-boarding staff, and compliance.
  • Ensure our staff, team, and outreach efforts are rooted in and shaped by the values of equity and justice. Infusing equity and justice principles into every aspect of the job, including but not limited to staff management, orientation, and office administration.

Qualifications

Must Haves

  • Strong listening and communication skills. Ability to motivate your team
  • Possesses a growth mindset, be trainable, and open to new skills
  • Extremely detail-oriented: you catch small and large errors that most people miss
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Excel/Sheets
  • Passionate about progressive issues and motivated by social change
  • Experience managing staff or volunteers
  • Trustworthy, professional, and reliable

Nice to Haves

  • Experience managing large teams of staff or volunteers
  • Experience with voter registration
  • Experience leading a phone banking office or a call center
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish

Salary: This is a salaried position with a range of $50,000-57,200 per year, depending on experience. We offer benefits, including fully paid health care, vacation, and sick days.
