The Health District is seeking a talented and motivated Projects Coordinator to join the Community Impact Team who can develop effective relationships at all levels, think and plan strategically, and provide hands support for community needs. This position reports to the Manager, MHSU Alliance and SUD Transformation on the Community Impact Team and will support the development, implementation and leadership of community change initiatives.

Pay Range and Status

  • $26.67 to $28.38 per hour DOQ
  • 40 hrs/wk

Education and Experience

  • Any combination of training AND/OR experience that would provide the equivalent of:
    • A minimum of a Master’s Degree in behavioral health, social work, health, or other relevant field, OR a combination of equivalent experience and education
    • Experience with and/or knowledge of best practices in the prevention and treatment of mental illnesses and substance use disorders
    • Knowledge and ability to apply principles of equity, diversity and inclusion to provoke systems change.
  • Experience with in-person and virtual training and facilitation is strongly desired.
  • Skills in community organizing are strongly desired including:
  • Identifying community problems/issues, researching and developing potential community-based solutions, and leveraging resources/stakeholders to address issues
  • Working with community members and stakeholders to achieve identifiable long-term improvements
  • Recruiting participation of key players, helping community groups consistently move forward, creatively developing options, choosing priorities, developing and successfully implementing detailed plans

Key Responsibilities

The Projects Coordinator works closely with the Manager, team, and partners involved in the Mental Health and Substance Use Alliance of Larimer County (MHSU Alliance), Health District leaders, and others, to gather, organize, and utilize information leading to the organization and implementation of primarily behavioral health improvement efforts in prioritized areas.

This position uses research (data, information, stakeholder input), analysis, development of effective materials, planning, organization of meetings and events, presentations, project management, and community organizing skills to work with partners and stakeholders to help the community develop and implement short and long-range solutions to community behavioral health-related issues. Must thrive on making sense out of complexity and ambiguity; be flexible with change; and enjoy problem solving and learning.

  • Assists in planning, implementing and coordinating complex projects to meet identified goals and objectives. Tasks may vary widely, including coordination of meetings and summarizing outcomes; development and implementation of goals/objectives, policies and procedures, activities, and evaluation plans; etc.
  • Conducts research/data collection through literature reviews, surveys, interviews, meetings and more.
  • Develops concise summaries, briefings, reports and visuals that point to clear next steps.
  • Coordinates logistics for meetings, trainings and other events.
  • Prepares agendas, facilitates meetings, and provides other staffing assistance to committees.
  • Develops and provides presentations, trainings and/or workshops to a variety of audiences.
  • Performs community organizing functions including organization of diverse community members around an issue, and negotiations and work towards changes in policies, approaches and processes.
