We are currently hiring for the position of:
Manager, Accounting
The Manager, Accounting is responsible for ensuring TIFF’s accounting records are complete and accurate, including the general ledger, the accounts payable and accounts receivable sub-ledgers; as well as working with the IT department to validate the financial raw data with regards to the sales of Ticketing, Concessions and Retail/Retail Online
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure timely reporting of all monthly financial information (i.e. daily sales report/unbalanced items of Box Offices and Concessions & Retail/Retail Online)
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of financial transactions through the general ledger and accounts receivable and payable sub-ledgers as assigned
- Review and approval of all general ledger journals
- Review and approval of all accounts payable invoices, staff expense claims and payments
- Ensure accurate accruals for revenue and expenses are made at year end
- Ensure that general ledger account reconciliations are reviewed and approved on a monthly or quarterly basis.
- Ensure that the physical inventory count of Concessions & Retail is reconciled on an annual basis
- Report on third party festivals both for Box Office and Digital platform ticket sales
- Review and submission of the quarterly HST return
- Preparation of the annual charity return
- Ensure compliance with control procedures throughout organization
- Assist with the timely monthly, quarterly and year end close and in the preparation for annual audit
- Support Controller and Director, Finance & Administration with special projects and workflow process improvements as required
- Day to day management, coaching and oversight of 4 staff members and Interns as required
- Other day to day duties as required

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting and a professional accounting designation (CPA), preferred
- 3 years of financial management accounting experience
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Experience with NetSuite an asset
- Advanced skills in MS Office Suite especially Excel
- Demonstrates a high level of integrity
- Able to communicate clearly and effectively
- Highly organized in the management of individual workload and the workload of your team
- Proven ability to be calm and proactive in a high-pressured environment with changing priorities
- Strong leadership, development and people/project management skills
- Prioritize and delivery of tasks with the constant changes in workflow
- Detail oriented
- Ability to meet deadlines
